~Zoey~
"Hey, I'm going to go walk around.... it sounds like the attacks have stopped." I say to my little brother, Zack, as I walk towards the door.
"Okay!" He says, nodding. I watch him pull out a book, and then I leave the room. I'm walking outside when I crash into someone.
"Ouch!" Me and the guy, Prince, both say at the same time.
"Watch where you're going, squirt." He says to me. I glare, and he just shrugs. Ugh! Ignorance like that really annoys me.I look behind him, and see two unfamiliar faces. One was a boy, and one was a girl. I duck under Prince, and end up in front of them.
"Hey!" I say, extending my hand. The girl looked wary of me, and the boy took it. "My name's Zoey. what's yours?"
"Ren, a shark halfer." The boy says. He lets go of my hand, and I grin. Then, I turn to the girl.
"So, who are you?" I say, poking her. She looks seriously annoyed, so I stop.
"Paloma." She mumbles softly. I nod. I look around, then spot Claudia.
"Claudia!" I shriek, running up to her. I grab her arm, and she looks at me in a weird way. "Have you seen Jethro?! I haven't been able to find him!" She snorts, and rolls her eyes.
"Now, why would I know what happened to the mutt??????" She asks, shaking me off.
"Because you're always with him!" I say back. "Ya'll have like, a love-hate relationship." Seriously, what I say is true. They either like each other or they don't.
"Say, WHAT?!" Claudia says, all wide-eyed. "We have what kind of relationship!" I'm about to answer when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn to see Ren standing behind.
"You know Jethro?" He asks, tilting his head.
"Yeah! do you know anything about him???" I ask back.
"Uhh.... well, yeah......" he says cautiously. He glances at Paloma, and she looks at me.
"You see," Ren says with a sigh, " We were walking down, and we found her, and we got in a fight with hunters, and they kinda sorta took him." I gasp.
"Well, we gotta get him back! They've got Belk, too!!!!" I shout.
"And Kari." Claudia and Prince are quick to add.
"Alright," I say, " Lets head back to the hotel and make a plan....." I start to jog back to the hotel, waving the others to follow. Sad enough, I started running first, and was the last one to get to the hotel! Darn my short, 8 year old legs!
"So," Prince says when we get there. "This is what we're going to do......."
