I Won't Say It

Abyss: I finally posted (thanks Rose!)

~Kari~

I got dragged into somewhere, some place that seemed annoying. As I walked/got dragged, I thought of something that may help me with my own
emotional turmoil, or just make it even worse.

I laughed as he tickled me. He was also laughing as we sat under the tree, just friends—or that’s what I thought.

“Kari,” he started as I hummed something that wasn’t a known song.

“What is it?” I asked. The breeze blew, carrying my voice. “What is it?”
I repeated, just louder this time.

“I have to tell you something,” he said with a small smile.

I was somewhat suspicious. “What is it?” The hill that we resided on did not seem like a good place to be. The trees seemed to loom over me, making sure I never escaped. The wind seemed ready to push me over, ready to kill me if I was not ready to meet his demands. The grass seemed to turn into blades, ready to stab me if the other two failed at their job.

“I wanted to say that I—“

“KARI!” Claudia ran up to me, grinning as she brought some food to us. “THEY GAVE ME THIS FOR NO REASON!”

I cautiously picked up the food and took a bite. It didn’t seem to be rotten or poisoned, so I continued to eat the food. I had forgotten about him until he spoke up once again.

“Kari, I wanted to say that I would like to date you.”

“What?!” I spat out the water I was about to drink. “Date?!” He was a good friend, but we—me and Claudia—were going to leave soon.

“I said, I would like to go out with you.” He seemed like he really wanted this, but Claudia and I had to keep moving, unless we wanted to be captured.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t date you,” I said, though I thought it might have been better if I had accepted. I could have a relatively normal life, but Claudia would have to stay here, in our hometown where we swore we would never go back to after this.

His demeanor seemed to change as I replied. “Then, from this day forth, you will be my enemy! Mark my words, cat, I will have my revenge.”

I jumped back as his fist tried to hit my face—he must have really wanted to date me. I pulled Claudia, and we ran into the forest. I never saw him again, but I knew he was after me.

When we entered a town, people would start to chase us.

So when Sky and Abby found us, I was suspicious of them, along with the bear I met.

Those moments of terror, of fear, never left, but it seemed to disappear when I was with Prince. Maybe I was thinking too much about it.

He wrapped his arms around me, which earned him a kick to wherever my foot landed—though I had an idea of where the target was.

He fell to the ground, and I was planning to slap him, but he was on the ground, so I just satisfied myself with kicking him once again.

“You pervert!” I snapped, my face red as I replayed what he said. “I would never kiss you, so don’t tell me I’ll do that!”

I stormed off, away from this preppy school. Next time there was something that involved her going to this school, I think I’ll skip.

“Kari!” I turned to see another guy running to catch up—what was with these guys? I mean, there were at least twenty trying to talk to me—and one pervert who doesn’t understand the word no.

“What do you want?” I was in no mood for someone asking me out—or worse.

“I just wanted to walk with you.” Before I could respond, he ended up right by my side. “Do you want a tour of your new school?”

“Sure.” I needed to learn about this school, and I thought it was nice of him to offer. We walked around this huge school—I hate my parents who are rich and want me to continue their legacy of…actually, I don’t know what it was!

“So, that ends this tour,” he concluded near the parking lot. He smiled sweetly and I smiled back—I was sure we could be good friends.

“Thank you,” I said, feeling sincere.

‘But as time went on, he tried to get us to be more than friends.’

I thought that it was somewhat cruel, but I didn’t say anything against it, not until I got beaten up for dating “the hottest guy in the school.”

I sighed as someone approached me, trying to comfort me. “Do you think I love you?” That question came out of nowhere.

“No, I don’t think you do,” I answer carefully.

He pinned me up against the wall. “Well, you’re wrong.” He grinned, and I closed my eyes—I wasn’t going to kill him.

“I don’t think you will do that,” I responded. “If you love me, you would let me go so I could find the person I love.”

He released me. “I guess you’re right, as always. This is why I liked you—you seem to understand me the most.”

I nodded at him; I wasn’t going to fall in love with him.

“I guess we can just be friends.”

And then, they shoved me in.

I looked at Prince’s …artistic ability. “Wow Prince, I just LOVE your drawing technique!” I said sarcastically.

"Shaddup! Do you really think this is the time to be talking about that?! Plus, it’s hard to draw in cedar!" He seemed to be trying to cover up his wonderful talent.

He talked about a plan which I ignored, and when they got ready, I was stuck with the dog. “Pally~” She didn’t respond to the nickname. “Pally~” She seemed hell-bent on ignoring me. “Fine, it’s your loss anyways.” I turned away from the horrible cedar drawing, and headed out. But before I made it out of the room, something grabbed my leg.
