the Bird is Mine

I stepped to the front joining Pierce who had just pointed out a bird. In my wolf form my nose told me everything I needed to know about the bird. It was a male, and he was a halfer. A poising like sent clang to him.

He flew down to our level and changed into a human. I growled as Pierced questioned him. I could tell he was going to try to stop us.

"My name is Sebastian my good ser, and it's my job to stop you." the bird replied.

The growl I had been holding back until I had proof of my suspicion. I looked him over. he seemed to have no weapons, but I suspected that cane of his had a surprise. Finely I stepped foreword. "He's mine," I growled my ears pointing at him and my teeth bared. "I'll hold him off while the rest of you go around him."

Hearing me he polled a sword from his cane and pointed it at me. I saw the threat. Anyone passing him would be cut. Taking a step towards him I revealed my own sword. In a sudden movement I raced up to him catching him off guard.

In one fluid movement I pinned his blade between my blade and the wall. "Everyone, go now," I yelled back at my companions. The others ran past up. Nanuke looked at me as she passed. A tear fell from her eye. She hated it when I risked my life for others, it scared her.

I treed not to cry as we ran away from Ice and the bird. It was hard to think that he might not make it. Echo and Kallik were prisoners, Shadow was looking foe Echo, and Ice was fighting the bird halfer. I was alone, the only one of my pack still with this group. I ran near Pierce, at least I knew who he was.

I ran down the hall. All my resentment towards Pierce and his friend forgotten. All that mattered, all I cared about was finding Echo.

I found her sent in a large dining room. Mixed with her sent was burnt flesh and hair. I felt my anger rising again. They'd hurt her, that was unforgivable. I fallowed her sent down a dark hallway. The smell of blood grew greater and greater the closer I got.

At last I reached the room where her sent led. The sent of blood was overpowering here, she had been hurt. It was a freezer like room, soled, no way to brake in. I tried to open the door, it was locked.

Seeing no other way I polled a bobby pin out of my bangs and as a black sheet covered one of my eyes I picked the lock. It opened with a click. I eased the door open and came face to face with an enraging seen. A guard was leaning over Echo with a knife dropping with her blood. I ran foreword changing into a massive black wolf. He was so intent on his pray that he didn't notice me. I lunched into his back. I heard a clanking sound as he hit the ground front first, I knew he had stabbed himself in the chest as he hit the floor. His blood was now filling his longs. I didn't want to end his suffering, but I wanted to see him dead before I went to her.

I dug my fangs into the back of his neck. My teeth sank in deep, when they met bone I used all the power in my jay and broke his spine. Blood filled my mouth as I let his neck go.

Finely I ran to Echo, In my human form I knelt down beside her. "Echo, can you hear me?" My voice was barley more than a whisper.
