“Thanks, Nanuke.” I breathed as she tightly wrapped the last of the bandage around my stomach while we both sat in the bathroom.
“No problem, just don’t stress yourself too much or they might break open.” She bit off the last of it.
“Did you already take care of Ice?” I asked, he seemed pretty brutal last I saw him it worried me a little.
She nodded. “Yeah, he completely tore himself up,” There was a pang of sadness in her voice. “But he’s completely asleep right now with Kallik so it’ll be okay.” She said standing up.
“I’m glad.” I smiled as we stepped into the bedroom. Nanuke left, she was pretty busy helping the rest of the wounded.
The rest of the room was vacant; Shadow still hadn’t come back. I was overcome with sudden exhaustion probably a combination of being locked up and mild medicine overdose. I curled on the end of the bed; the darkness completely overtaking me.
It barely felt like half an hour when I tossed over rubbing my eyes. But when I looked at the clock I had been asleep for only around three hours. My ears perked a little startled when soft breathing became audible.
I pushed myself up suddenly noticing a blanket falling off my skin. I blinked turning around to see Shadow completely asleep on the other side. I grabbed the cover and threw it over him. His face was almost completely curtained with his hair. I smiled, it was kinda cute to see him sleep with it down.
I carefully got up trying not to disturb him and stumbled over a pile of clothes. Flustered I picked them up but stopped, were these for me? They were almost exactly like the ones I used to have.

The pants didn’t fit very well I tightened the belt to the last notch and pulled the white tank top over my head and chest. I flipped my hair out of it feeling just how damaged it was. Almost the entire back from matted in blood and it was crisply burnt. I sighed, I really didn’t have much choice.
Slowly creaking the bathroom door open I crept back through the bedroom until I spotted Shadow’s bag. I’d apologize later; I fumbled through the pockets mostly running my hands through a collection of CD cases. I zipped it up and searched in one off the smaller pockets. Aha, I pulled out the metallic handle and flicked the button; a grim looking glow illuminated it as the knife blade sprung up.
I sat down on the toilet cross legged and grabbed the entire length of my hair throwing it over my shoulder. Pulling it straight I held the blade tightly and dragged it through slicing off at least seven inches. I tossed it in the trash and began chopping through my bangs.
I set down the switchblade and looked up at the mirror. I brushed it until it laid straight in a side bang. Fumbling through the drawers I found a clip barrette and pinned up the back; the butchered ends almost resembled a bird’s tail.
A knocking on the door caused me to jump. I ran out and threw open the door.
“Ice?” I looked up at him; his face was solemn but he smiled a little.
“Hey, Sky just wanted everyone to know we’re moving out.” He looked past me. “Is Shadow up?”
“Now I am…” Shadow mumbled half asleep as he walked to the doorway. His eyes widened a little as he saw me; I blushed and looked at the ground.
“Well get your stuff together we’re leaving.” Ice said and walked off.

“Thank you Ghosti, I feel a million times better already.” I smiled leaning my weight on my cane as I strode through the hall. Underneath every inch of clothing I was thoroughly wrapped in bandages. I kind of had a self spot of pity for the late king tut; being a mummy must be dreadful.
“Seb, I don’t think you should be moving around so much.” She trotted along behind me exasperated.
“Don’t get so ruffled; I merely just want to see something.” I opened the door and continued up the stairs. I pushed open the door the chilled wind beating my face as I strode out onto the roof.
I took a few steps and collapsed onto my knees.
“Seb!” Ghosti grabbed my shoulder. “Are you okay?!”
I threw my head toward the sky laughing she must have looked at me like I was mad.
“Do you feel it?” I breathed. “It’s the most wonderful feeling in the world.”
“what?” She blinked completely confused.
“To be free, it’s almost like being reborn.” I gazed up into the sky. ““Any existence deprived of freedom is a kind of painful death.”
“You’re such a sharkspere.” Ghosti laughed, I looked at her.
“If the choice was mine I’d fly back to my old home in London without a second thought but…I lost a petty bet with a wolf.” I shook my head then looked at Ghosti. “Ready to join me on this mad adventure?”
She grabbed my hand pulling my up to my feet. “Always.” She smiled, we walked hurriedly to the front entrance joining the group.
