"Nao?" A woman's voice blared through the phone.
"Hi there Miss I! What can I do for ya?" Naoki answered. He knew she probably wanted him to look after Tokine, but it never hurt to ask.
with a seconds hesitation, as if she felt bad about asking, Io said, "Well, I have to go to work a little early today and I wont be home 'till 3, could I drop Toki at Shuji's place?"
Naoki couldn't help but giggle at the desperate tone. "Of course Miss I! You know you don't haffta ask! Shu and I'll be home all day."
"Oh thank you! You're a life saver! See you in a half hour!" And then a click signaled the end of the conversation. Nao hung up the reciever with a small smile. He never tired of spending time with the quirky three-year-old that Io had gone through hell to find a babysitter for.
Shuji had met Io first as a waitress in his favorite resturant; then he introduced Nao after the woman had mentioned wanting a babysitter. In the three years they'd known Io, Shuji had probably asked her out every possible way but she always turned him down. Nao almost felt bad for his brother, but he was a good guy and he'd find someone else. He wasn't worried about his older brother. Shuji never let anything get under his skin, he'd be fine.
Naoki had also formed a pretty strong relationship with Io. When he'd go over to play with Tokine, she'd sit with him after work and they'd talk for hours. Sometimes Naoki caught himself thinking of the young mother, as if he were the one with a crush on her!
A knock on the door pulled him out of his thoughts.
"Naoki, get that will you?" his older brother called.
"It's I and the baby! Toki's stayin a while!"
"That's fine."
Nao hurried up to answer the door.
"Hi Nao, thank you sooo much! You have no idea how much I appreciate it!" Io said gratefully.
Nao held out a hand to the dark haired toddler and she took it, waddling over to stand by his side. "It's not a problem, see, we get a long great!" He picked up the little girl and held her at his hip. "I'll give you a call if anything happens. But we should be fine!"
"Okay, I'll see you guys soon!" The woman reached out and kissed her daughter on the head and touched Naoki's cheek. "Thank you." And then she hurried out the door, always late for something.
"C'mon Toki, what do you want to do today?"

I love nao :3 and his older brother shuji<3 however i strongly dislike his mother(shizuka) and his younger brother(yurouichi) but his 2nd oldest brother is whatever(Yuri)... So yeah he has a big family :3
And Yeah after Io had her baby she's just been very mom-ish for the past few years... And when nao and Io leave, she leaves Toki with Shuji
