(I should be asleep since it's 4am but I feel like I'll be forgotten if I don't post soon ;_;)
Kasumi:
Tapping my nails on the wall I was leaning against, I tilted my hat and sighed, "Nothing ever happens, does it?"
Tamotsu laughed quietly from his spot by the street and replied, "A couple of years ago you would have been overjoyed to have such a peaceful life, Kas."
I snorted, "Five years ago, maybe, but now it's just plain ol' boring!"
"Five years, hm?" Tamotsu walked over and pushed my hat up slightly with his finger, leaning in slightly. He looked ready to say something more when a voice cried out, "THIEF!"
As quickly as he walked over, Tamo backed away and gave a slight nod to say 'This one's your's.' H*ll, I wasn't going to argue with that! 'Bout time I saw some action. Still leaning nonchalantly against the wall, I opened one eye to watch a kid of about fourteen or so sprint my way. Idiot wasn't even taking note of the people he passed. I stuck my leg out and tripped the little thief then reached out quickly to grab the back of his shirt before pulling him against the wall.
"What have we got here?" I asked him with a grin while taking an expensive-looking necklace from his hand.
"Wha-who are you?!" cried the struggling little thief.
I tsked, "Don't recognize an officer's uniform, kid? Maybe you'll recognize handcuffs or a police car?"
"You're an officer?!"
"Are you deaf, kid?" I tossed the necklace to Tamotsu. "Could you take this to the nice woman? Thanks, Tamo!"
He shot me a look after catching the jewelry and left, chuckling quietly. I turned my attention back to the kid.
"So why'd you steal from that woman? Heck, nevermind that. Hm, I suppose I'll take you in now." I grinned viciously.
The kid stiffened, "Oh please, don't! I won't steal again, alright?! I just wanted to pawn it!"
"Theft isn't something to take lightly, kid," I told him as he started up more protests. "But I suppose I could let you go this once."
I spun him to face me and stated gravely, "I catch you breaking the law again, kid, and I'll have your head. And I WILL catch you, got it?"
The poor kid nodded his head vigorously, "Yes m'am!"
I let go of him and smiled, "Good. Now go on home, kid."
He nodded quite a bit and then took off running toward what I hoped was his home. "You've grown too soft," came a voice from behind me.
"You're one to talk, Tamo," I retorted with a grin. "Let's get going. Our time's up for today."
