You know how they say curiosity killed the cat? That's the opposite of what my curiosity got me.
I once again,returned to the trees. My male owner was talking to that man again. I couldn't help myself,so I started cutting at a tree near by to them. Between chops I could hear what they were saying.
"So you still won't sell her?" The man said.
"I'm not selling her,shes the only one I have."
"What if I made a money offer?"
"Nope."
"Property?
"Nope. I won't sell her unless she gets sick with some kinda flu or something."
I stopped cutting at the tree. If I got sick he would sell me! Suddenly there was a call from them.
"You better not be thinking about taking any brakes you lowly mut!" My owner called from were he was. I sighed and got back to work. But then there was another call.
"C'mere'! We need ya!" Accompanied by the usual whistle. I ran over,my mind buzzing with ways to convince him I was sick. When I got over he grabbed my arm and Pulled me over to stand in front of the man who wanted to by me. He looked me over and told me to open my mouth. I opened my mouth wide,showing off my pointy fangs. He took out a flashlight and looked in.
"Yep,she definetely has monotone disease." What? How could I have that. Oh! He's tricking my owner! At that moment I decided to do the best cough I could. I swung my head down with a loud coughing/choking noise. This seemed to startle them both.
"She's very far along in development of the disease! It's so far it could begin affecting you and your wife!" The man exclaimed. I decided to play along with it.
"I bet I already did...I've been coughing a lot recently,I just tried not to do it when around you two." I said,as innocently as I could.
"Ack! Stay away from me!" My owner yelled,pushing me toward the other man.
"You want her? You can take her!" He said,before running back to the house.
"Hmmph,just because you belong to me now,doesn't mean I'll be any nicer to you." You said,grabbing my arm and pulling me away toward what I assumed was his truck. Oh well,at least I'll get a change of scenery.
"Change into your animal form." He ordered me. I sighed and did as I was told. He tied a rope around my neck to act as a collar then hauled me onto the back of his truck. He hopped in the truck and started driving out of my "Home". As we drove along the heavily wooded road. The man driving hit a bump and the rope was broken at the sudden movement. Now wa my chance! As the man stopped the car to tie me up again I lept out of the back of the truck and sprinted as hard as I could away. I heard him yell and hit something but decided it would be best not to look back.I kept running and running. I didn't know were I was going,all I knew was that I was free.
