No one seemed to be close to being outside of harmony for a while, so I decided to write some solo stuff for Trent while I wait.

Banana.
I need groceries, and I always have trouble with this decision. Should I buy bananas or not. It always feels like I'm being too predictable getting bananas. I just know that the shop owner will mock me if I get them. I can hear him right now, "Need some bananas monkey man...". He's not the most clever man, but he knows it'll annoy me. He doesn't like me, but he at least lets me shop here. I can't say the same for most of the other shops.
I hear a gunshot in the distance. It's not unusual to hear things like that around this area. This is the bad part of town. As in the part of town so bad the police don't ever go through it. Some halfers will hide out in this area. We don't get treated much better, but were free to come and go as we please.
I decide to buy the bananas and suffer through the consequences. I head for the checkout counter and prepare for it.
"Need some bananas monkey man?" He said mockingly.
I wasn't sure to feel happy with my ability to predict him, or be annoyed at him for saying that every time I bought bananas. I let out a sigh and asked how much it would cost.
"That will be forty dollars fur ball."
I gave a scowl. I knew that he was ripping me off, but this wasn't an unusual way to treat halfers around here.
"Come on, I've let you do this long enough. Could you just let me pay the same price everyone else does."
"Listen here you rat..."
"Monkey." I corrected.
"Whatever the hell you are, you're lucky I even let you shop here. One call and I could make you my own personal pet. Only thing stopping me is not wanting to see your face around here anymore than it already is."
"Listen, you and I both know the cops aren't going to come down here and enforce any law. You'd have to be an idiot to think they'd even come close to this area."
He was starting to get angry, well more angry than usual. "I don't NEED the cops. Any passerby on the street will gladly help me put you in your place!"
I knew that was true. Lucky for me though there was no one in sight of the building. "From the looks of it you don't have any helpers. Either way if any fight goes on in here, it's your building and goods being damaged, not mine."
His face had turned beat red. I laughed at it.
I heard a click under the table. He had a weapon, some type of gun.
"Fine, I'll pay for it. I'll pay for it. No need to get any rash ideas. How much was it."
He gave a grin. He knew I wasn't going to fight him. Not while he's armed at least. "That will be sixty dollars monkey man."
"That's twenty dollars more than before!"
"Seventy, or get the hell out."
I had way too much pride to let him do this to me. I picked get the hell out.
He screamed behind me, "And don't you ever dare come back or I'll kill you on the spot.".
My stomach gave out a grumble. Dinner time. I opened up my backpack, and pulled out some bananas. Some people would describe the way I obtained these bananas from him as theft. I prefer creative bargaining or self fulfilling justice. Either way, he's ripped me off for enough money in the past that he owes me these. I ran off into my urban jungle food in hand. I didn't want to be around when he noticed that these are missing from the cart.
