Hearing Gray's story blew me away. I had no idea the a human could become a halfer! Anger welled up inside me as I thought of the story. I also pitied him, but I quickly brushed that emotion away.
No, I thought, His actions were inexcusable, but not unexpected. CLAM DOWN IO!
No matter how hard I tried to suppress my feelings, a low rumbling growl filled the air. Quick as lightning, Dani morphed and was in front of Gray, her neck hair standing up in a defensive way. He just sat behind her as if welcoming fate.
As if she would be a match for me! I thought. I only need to change form, and swat you with my claws!
"I-Io," Asuka spoke up, "A-are you alright?"
"No!" I screeched, my voice cracking with emotion, "I'm sorry, my temper is strong, I must leave before I cause any harm. I'll be back by morning, if that's fine."
As I bolted for the entrance, I faintly heard Sky and Ariel wish me well. Fresh air slapped my face; instantaneously i transformed and leaped into the air, without looking back. I soared away, just a mass a scales, leathery skin, and seething anger.
Keep soaring Io, I thought, Seth! I'll find Seth! He'll calm me down, and I can talk to him about Harmony.
I passed countless hills covered with fluffy snow before landing in front of a large opening. My cave was big enough for two dragons.
"Seth!" I roared, "Seth, I need you!"
Must be sleeping, I thought to myself.
I sniffed the air, searching for his smell, but I only caught faint, stale traces.
"Seth..." my voice trailed away. He was not there.
I streaked out of the cavern and launched into the open air. Soaring in circles, I tried to locate my lover. My anger was replaced with worry, sadness, and anxiety. After hours of searching, I headed back to my new friends with tears bubbling from my eyes, rolling down my cheeks.
