[Hello my darling friends, Chivee here to bring you five interesting or mind blowing facts about Pokemon that you may not have known~ If you like this little information segment, let me know and I'll do more~ This will be a lot of reading so get ready my darling fans~ I really hope to bring you all information you may not have known, but if you know something, please feel free to talk about this with me~ I do ridiculous amounts of research on most of my topics~ Also, I'll be adding a little fact about me and Pokemon at the end of this, as you all know Pokemon is a staple in my life~ Okay, let's get started~]
Fact #1: This is one I found very interesting. Let's look at some types and their weaknesses. Now we all know that Fighting types are weak to Psychic types, well think about it, it makes sense. Mind over matter. Brains over brawn. You get it. What you may not realize is Psychic's weaknesses. Psychic is weak to Bug, Dark and Ghost. All of those are common human fears that overrule the logic of our minds. On that note, Ghost and Normal can't effect each other, in much the same way humans and ghosts can never touch one another.
Fact #2: Some of you might know this on already but here we go. Clefable and Gengar are actually intertwined with one another as Gengar is either Clefable's shadow or what happens when a Clefable dies or is corrupted in some way. Evidence of this can be found in how similar they look, being about the same shape with the same style hands, feet and ears and also with them both having hair on their head and a tail, even though Gengar's is spikier due to its evil nature. Their heights and weights are also very close with Gengar being only slightly taller and heavier than Clefable. Also Gengar is the "Shadow Pokemon" which hints to its connection with being Clefable's shadow and Gengar is a Ghost Pokemon, perhaps the ghost of a dead Clefable even, while Clefable is a Normal type Pokemon therefore the two can never touch one other, just like we can't touch our shadows or ghosts as stated above~
Fact #3: This one isn't completely a fact, but its pretty interesting. Wobbuffet is actually kind of like a puppet Pokemon. You see the "tail" that the Pokemon has is actually the Pokemon. The Black/White Pokedex entries for Wobbuffet state "It desperately tries to keep its black tail hidden. It is said to be proof the tail hides a secret." Most of its other entries in other Generations also say similar things about how it hides it tail and doesn't like it when things harm its tail. Why is this? Because the tail is actually a shy, weak little Pokemon that isn't able to fight. Afraid of being attacked and killed knocked out, the little thing created a "punching bag" to protect itself. Wobbuffet cannot actually use any harmful attacks either, as the real Pokemon is too weak for that. Most Wobbuffets are cheerful, clueless and fun, but that's all just a mask to hide the scared little Pokemon hiding behind it. Also, the tail has open eyeballs while the "body" does not.
Fact #4: Please no one get mad at me for this one. Giratina is the Devil of the Pokemon world. There's a lot of evidence behind this too. First off I'll start with its back story. It's been said in the legends behind the world of Pokemon that Arceus, the creator of all life and existence, essentially God, created three other Pokemon to help it balance the world, Dialga, Palkia and Giratina. Dialga governed over time and Palkia over space. But Giratina was never stated to have any real thing that it governed over, except for a dark, twisted world that lay under and opposite the real world. A few Pokedex entries for this Pokemon state "It was banished for its violence. It silently gazed upon the old world from the Distortion World." Banished for violence. That sounds an awful lot like the Devil. On that, Giratina's two forms, its original form and an altered form called the Origin Form. The original form resembles a basilisk while the Origin form resembles a snake. The Devil took the forms of both a basilisk and a snake in many stories. Giratina also has another interesting thing, the number of its wings/spikes, feet and ribs are all six in both forms meaning it has six wings/spikes, six feet and six ribs. 666 is a common number for the Devil.
Fact #5: This fact is actually two in one but they're both small and similar so I put them together. The original legendary trio, the legendary birds, was actually going to be two birds and a dog. Yup. That's right. Arcanine was originally meant to be a legendary and take the place of Moltres but Nintendo worried that that idea would confuse players so they created a fire bird and left Arcanine as one of the most powerful non-legendary Pokemon to this date. On that, the legendary dogs of the next gen, likely based on the scrapped idea of the legendary Arcanine, all represent a stage of what happened to the Burnt Tower in order of their national dex number. Raikou (#243) represents the lightning that struck the tower, Entei (#244) represents the fire that consumed the tower and Suicune (#245) represents the water that extinguished the flames. Its said that Ho-oh created those three dogs after its tower was so badly hurt in order to keep peace and balance the forces of nature so it would never happen again.
Fact About Me: Growing up I had two best friends, Micky and Anthony, and each one of us was designated a starter type that we were to supposed to always pick no matter what. Micky was assigned Water, Anthony was assigned Grass and I was happily assigned Fire. On that note we each also had a specific game for each gen until the re-releases of older games and Black and White, Anthony and Micky would get the base games, Anthony having the one side (Red, Gold, etc) and Micky having its opposite (Blue, Silver, etc) while I got the third installment (Yellow, Crystal, etc) meaning I should have gotten ElecticYellow/WaterBlue, MindCrystal, Gray and Gray 2. Anyway, this meant I never actually got to pick Charmander as my starter and I was the only one of us to have the ability to have all three starters in gen one. Though that changed in gen two. Speaking of gen two, despite having to always pick the Fire starter, my favorite starter from any game up to this point is actually the Water starter, Totodile, whom I've always named Odin. This being said, gen two was the only gen, as of yet, that I didn't pick the Fire starter first, despite not actually liking gen four or five's Fire starters~
