Friends by Crehea
As the sun shined down on the water, she gently moves her delicate feet in the water in circle motions. The fish bump into her feet gently as the scout out to see if her small, skinny toes are worms.
Across the lake is a boy that watches her carefully from behind the red wood tree. Interested as he is, he goes from tree to tree to get closer to her for a better look.
Her long brown hair covered the sides of her face, the tips of her hair gently touching her legs. He slightly blushed at how graceful she looked by just looking at meer water. To his eyes the sun shined perfectly on her perfect skin, it shined on it just enough to make her skin sparkle.
He jumped as she quickly pulled one of her legs out of the water. Her toe bled as one of the fishes had taken a nibble at her big toe. She bit her lip lightly and tears ran down her face.
The boy hesitated at first but then ran over to her. "Are you ok?"
She looked at him, shocked that he was so close to see her at the lake. Her fist covered her mouth as the tears stopped flowing down her cheeks. "A fish bit my toe..." she said very softly.
He looked around to check if anyone was watching. As soon as he realized no one was watching her knelt down to her and picked her foot up a bit. His hand glowed a dark blue and sparks came from his hand to the bleeding cut on her toe.
She stared, amazed by the dark magic that he withheld. Her village, against black magic, would burn the people who had any such power. "It looks like fun," she said.
He looked at her, her smile made him blush and look away from her. "It's just simple magic. It's not hard to do."
"Papa would be mad at me if i had it. You are lucky."
He scratched the top of his head and glanced at her. "It's not hard to learn though. I could always teach you. If you want?"
She shook her head no. "Papa would be mad at me if i had it."
He frowned at the matter. "Maybe I can show you some magic then?"
She stood up from the muddy bank and wiped her self off. "If you can do magic then make me disappear," she smiled down at him.
All night he thought why she wanted to disappear. Was she alone? Or maybe she was being picked on? He couldnt figure it out without knowing who she really was. He decided to ask her the next day when he saw her at the lake.
"Why do you want to disappear?"
"Why?"
"Yes why?"
"I dont need a reason. You said you would show me magic and I want you to show me that you can make me disappear."
He looked at the girl carefully. The girl he thought was innocent and graceful was a demanding and ugly girl now. He never knew such people existed, for he was around caring adults all his life.
"No... I dont want to."
"What? Why not you said you would?"
"No one should ever disappear from this world. No matter what they have done, everyone deserves a second chance. So how about I show you a different magic trick?"
"No..! I had so many chances. Papa hates me and so does my village. I want to disappear. I want papa to look for me! I want people to care for me," she screeched as tears flowed from her eyes into her mouth that quivered slightly.
She cried more and more as her sobs become louder and louder as more tears streamed down her face. "I care for you." She looked at him and blushed as she stared at his smile. "I'll be here for you and be your best friend, but only if you be my best friend and care for me?"
She looked at him for a while. He got nervous as she didnt answer him right away, but stood his ground to let her know he was serious. She finally leaped at him and threw her arms around his neck to embrace him tightly. "Yes, thank you!"
From that day on they became the closest and best of friends. He would be there for her as much as he could as she would be there for him. Even through the hard times they would never leave each other...
"A friend never leaves another friend behind in a time of need."
