Rolling her eyes she mulled his question over in her head. “I guess. Though he could go overboard sometimes. Like hurting people. But in the end if he did wrong he would make it right.”
“Only if Oberon made him. “ Rob mumbled.
She smiled thinking about it. “No. I think in the end, he might have done the right thing eventually. I think Puck had a good heart. But being so powerful, so ancient, must get lonely sometimes. I mean. All that drinking and women and tricking people and doing nasty things. Everyone knows that’s all just a front. Even humans do that. But he was….“ She stopped. “…listen to me. It’s only a story, a myth. So it doesn’t really matter what I think does it?”
“You’re an idiot.” He said suddenly and got up walking off. Her jaw was left hanging open. What was that? Here she was beginning to like him, thinking maybe she had made a friend and he went all bipolar on her. After the shock wore off she went back to staring at the wall.
After lunch it was time for drama club. She didn’t see Rob. Fine. He could fine his own way around school .The day was almost over anyway. She walked into the auditorium as everyone lined up who wanted to try out for parts. She dropped her pack in a seat and dug out the play. Her heart was pounding. She wanted to focus today but now her mind was blurred and unfocused. She always wanted to be an actor on Broadway or at least get one part in a high school play. She wasn’t asking for an Emmy, just one thing she could be proud of.
“Hello Ms. Aster.” Ms. Alder said with her half glasses hanging low on her nose. Her pointed annoyingly persnickety nose. She was about a hundred and never married, though anyone could tell you why she never married. She was called the killer of dreams. She had her favorites and no one could break through that.
