Attention all Marvel Comics Super-Hero fans in Canada and U.S.! Mark your calendars for 5/19/2010 as on that day, "The Avengers" Vol. 4 No. 1 will be released. In this issue, it's the start of this so-called "Heroic Age", in which superheroes are back to their old selves after several years of moments of tragedy and terror (including the Civil War moment that involved Spider-Man fighting Iron Man, and of course the death of Steve Rogers, the original Captain America).

If you show up at your nearby comic store on May 19, there will be some amazing "Avengers" offers to check out (namely cover variants of the same issue discussed in this post and a free exclusive John Romita Jr.-authored limited edition print).

In ohter "Avengers" News, there will be the launch of new comic book series "Secret Avengers" (also scheduled for May, but will introduce a new team) as well as the Vol. 2 launch of "New Avengers" and the launch of comic series "Avengers Academy" (both scheduled to happen in June).
