So far in the main saga of the DC Comics Super-Heroes, Bruce Wayne (the original Batman) had entered a journey through time and space as a result of the "Final Crisis" scenario in which evil won. Then came the "Battle for the Cowl" event where Richard "Dick" Grayson (formerly Nightwing) defeated Jason Todd (the current Red Hood) in battle, thus taking over as Batman with Damian Wayne (biological son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul) becoming the current Robin. For those of you new to DC Comics, everything explained here is according to the history of New Earth, the current main universe setting of this saga.
Now, get ready DC Comics Super-Heroes fans as in October, DC Comics will be releasing a number of comic book one-shots each featuring a different character's point-of-view regarding Bruce Wayne's return to the present, all written by Grant Morrison. The titles are as follows:
- "Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Batman and Robin" (coming Oct. 6)
- "Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Red Robin" (coming Oct. 6)
- "Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Batgirl" (coming Oct. 13)
- "Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Outsiders" (coming Oct. 13)
- "Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Catwoman" (coming Oct. 20)
- "Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Commissioner Gordon" (coming Oct. 20)
- "Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Oracle" (coming Oct. 27)
- "Bruce Wayne: The Road Home: Ra's Al Ghul" (coming Oct. 27)
Afterwards, DC will release "Batman: The Return" (epilogue to the "Bruce Wayne: The Return Home" one-shots) on Nov. 3.
Word of advice, before you read any of those one-shots, make sure you first read "Batman" Vol. 1 Issue No. 703 as its main story is a prologue to those upcoming stories.
