What would it be like if a number of characters from different anime who share commonalities with DC Universe characters (in terms of special powers, personalities, and/or qualities that is) banded together to form a group of action heroes similar to the Justice League of America and/or Justice Society of America? Well, they'd probable be a group called "The Sushi Friends" (a play on "Super Friends", the collective term for the various Hanna-Barbera-produced animated series based on "Justice League of America"), a fan-made concept I just thouht up, and here's the roster for it (note that DC Universe character names at at right):
- Astro/Atom (from "Tetsuwan Atom"): Equivalent to Superman (hey, they're both hereos believeing in humans and non-humans living together while coping with being different)
- Sonic the Hedgehog: Equivalent to The Flash
- Monkey D. Luffy (from "One Piece"): Equivalent to Elongated Man
- Lum Invader (from "Urusei Yastura"): Equivalent to Starfire and Static Shock
- Skullman: Equivalent to Red Hood (the Jason Todd one that is)
- Dark Yugi (from "Yu-Gi-Oh!"): Equivalent to Shazam's Captain Marvel
- Moonlight Mask (or in Japanese-speaking terms, "Gekko Kamen"): Equivalent to Batman
- G-2 (from "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman"): Another equivalent to Batman
- G-4 (from "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman"): Equivalent to Robin
- Edward Elric (from "Fullmetal Alchemist"): Equivalent to Firestorm
- Briareos Hecatonchires (from "Appleseed"): Equivalent to Teen Titan's Cyborg
- Cobra (from "Space Adventure Cobra"): Equivalent to Adam Strange
- Naga the Serpent (from "Slayers"): Equivalent to Wonder Woman and The Huntress (the "Birds of Prey" Huntress that is)
- Black Magician Girl (from "Yu-Gi-Oh!"): Equivalent to Zatanna
- Angemon (from "Digimon Adventure"): Equivalent to Hawkman
- Raichu (from "Pocket Monsters"): Equivalent to Black Lightning
- Squid Girl: Equivalent to Aquagirl
- Shippo (from "Inu Yasha"): Equivalent to Beast Boy
Sushi Friends is the best name I could come up with for such a fan-made crossover concept, even though it may sound weird to some. Sorry.
