Although this piece of news from The World's Finest was dated Feb. 23, I just found it today. Whether you're a fan of Batman: The Animated Series or The Batman (2004), or even both, or just starting to get into looking watching animated Batman series before Batman: The Brave and the Bold, here's a DVD/blu-ray release you will want to lok forward to. On June 19, Warner Bros. will be bringing out The Best of Batman, collecting 13 animated episodes from both episodes, just in time to coincide with the release of The Dark Knight Rises.
When I first heard this release is happening, I was expecting it would include a few episodes from a few other series where Batman co-starred/starred: 1968's The Adventures of Batman (which does not yet have its own official DVD set/Blu-ray set), Batman Beyond, Batman: Brave and the Bold, 1977's The New Adventures of Batman, Justice League, or any of the Super Friends incarations. So I wasn't expecting the number of animated Batman series covered in this DVD/Blu-ray to be that short. Here's hoping Warner does a Best of Bartman 2 DVD set in the future to include episodes from series not covered in this upcoming best-of release.
