Today, I found out from Marvel.com and ComicBookMovie.com that the 2012 movie The Avengers actualy won a few awards at the People's Choice Awards 2013 event, which was two days ago, though the mvoie didn't win fromm all catgories it was nominated for.

Robert Downey, Jr., who played Tony Stark/Iron Man in the hit Marvel Studios film, took home two awards for his perfomance in the film: one for Favorite Movie Actor and another for Favorite Movie Superhero.

As for Chris Hemsworth, who played Thor in the same film, he took home the award for Favorite Acton Movie Star.

Additionally, the Avengers film was in the categories of "Favorite Movie", "Favorite Movie Actress", "Favorite Action Movie", "Favorite Face of Heroism", "Favorite Movie Franchise", and "Favorite On-Scren Chemistry", but lost in all of them: it lost to The Hunger Games in "Favorite Movie", Scarlett Johanson lost to Jennifer Lawrence in "Favorite Movie Actress", the movie lost to The Hunger Games in "Favorite Action Movie", Scarlett Johanson lost to Jennifer Lawrence in "Favorite Face of Heroism", The Avengers lost to The Hunger Games in "Favorite Movie Franchise", and Scarlett and Jeremy's chemistry perfomance for Avengers lost to the chemistry performance of Jennifer/Josh/Liam in "Favorite On-Scren Chemistry".
