HG & SS Assumptions - Gender

You know how HG and SS just came out last Sunday, right?
Well, I've been playing it so far and my brother now has SS too, but I think that there's something about the games that are a bit odd.

You know how you can choose a boy or girl right?
Since I'm a girl, I got Lyra and since my brother is a boy I think anyway he got Ethan.

Both of us got different starter pokemon and started at different times (he started his game first while I had to wait to get mine) and he got a Totodile, while I got a Cyndaquil (Both Starters were male since it's rare to get a female)

Then we went to go visit Mr. Pokemon to get the egg to give to Prof. Elm. After we defeated Faulkner, we got the eggs back and started walking around with them. His egg hatched when he was looking around for the Farfetch'd. He got Togepi, like usual, his Togepi was a male.

So, I walked around with my egg and it hatched into a Togepi as well when I was in Azelea Town. I figured the Togepi was male, because every time in my other games, the pokemon would turn out to be male. However, this time I was surprised to find out that my Togepi was a female O_O. That has NEVER happened to me before.

After I got my Togepi, I started training it, while my brother just kept Togepi where it was and kept causing his poor Togepi to faint. My Togepi evolved, I believe, the next day that I had it at Lv. 17 into Togetic.

After a while, my brother stopped playing because he wanted to get another game and he was getting annoyed at the fact he got beaten by Bugsy once and couldn't beat Whitney. So, these next two, I'm not completely sure about.

I defeated Whitney by using my Noctowl and Flaafy by switching in and out between them, since Noctowl was male and Flaafy was female. After I defeated her, I went out to go take care of Sudowoodo. Sudowoodo, whenever I came in contact with it, was always male, this time though, when I caught it, it turned out I was battling a female Sudowoodo with my Scyther and Flaafy.

Then, I went to get Bill at the Pokemon center, and went back, before doing anything in Ekrutek (I forget how to spell the city -.-') City, to get Eevee from Bill. I went to Goldenrod City to get Eevee and I also expected it to be a male, because of my experience in the games previously, and surprise, surprise, the Eevee was ALSO a female.

I have no confirmation from this, but I'm thinking from my experience with all the games, the differences between me and my bro's games, and also our pokewalkers too (he kept getting rarer pokemon when we were in the same feild and I kept getting the same pokemon over and over. He got a Pidgey, Doduo, and a Male Nidoran. While I got a Pidgey and two female Nidoran... I'm kinda thinking our games are being sexist and giving pokemon out depending on our character's gender. (though in my case I can't say it's a bad thing because I can breed easier since I have Ditto or just with any pokemon that would be relatable)
