Nursery Rhyme Challenge – Incy Wincy Spider
Chapter 1 – Incy Wincy Spider Climbed Up The Sprout
It was the beginning of a bright sunny autumn day when the spider came across the drain pipe, or sprout as it was randomly called in some places – like this one! The spider was curious. He had never climbed a sprout before and had the feeling that something was different about this one; it had an aura, an aura sort of reminiscent to the one which Nekozawa-sensai was famous for, what with his strange habits of plotting, extremely evil laughter, and random black magic rituals. The spider had watched him once while wandering around a strange high school full of exceptionally attractive boys who seemed to spend all their time trying to seduce girls. After a few minutes in that school the spider had promised himself he would never to go back there again. For a start no one had shrieked and run away which had been rather disappointing: the spider liked it when people ran away screaming. Secondly, all those good looking people had caused him to wonder about getting a new hairstyle and trying on some actual clothes. Those were thoughts no spider should ever have to deal with, especially when he was considered to be very attractive by his own race and had never had problems attracting a mate!
Cringing at the memories the spider decided to begin its ascent to see just where the sprout would take it, but also to see whether that aura was real or just an illusion caused by the sun peeking out from behind a rather ominous looking black cloud!
Alas, a few minutes into its tedious ascent, the spider found his mind drifting towards memories of his previous adventures, ones which he was starting to think would be far more exciting than the mission he was currently undertaking. Aside from bacon and pickles someone seemed to have left at the entrance there had been nothing of note so far on this journey; nothing distracting enough to make the climb in the least bit worthwhile anyway!
In the absence of any music producing technology like that which human joggers seemed to have, the spider zoned and lost himself in his first of many memories inspired by his climb.
