So I just watched Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 ep3 and went to update the counter on MyAnimeList. Instead of my list, though, I got this nice little message:
Access has been restricted for this account (IP: 10.2.10.22).
If you feel this is an error, please contact [email protected].
This is a temporary ban, it will be removed at some point in time. If you
feel this ban has been exceptionally long, please send an e-mail
to the address above stating your case.
Disregarding the fact that I've barely done anything there besides update my list and thus have no idea what the hell I could possibly have gotten banned for, the great part is that that's not even close to my IP address. Mine is currently 76.220.194.88. Which leads me to believe that whoever runs the site is just an idiot and screwed something up yet again.
Edit:
But wait, it gets better! I got curious and looked up that IP on DomainTools and guess what I found. It's an IP in one of the specially reserved ranges used by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, i.e. the people who oversee the allocation of IP addresses. And apparently MAL has banned it. Good luck with that, guys.
Edit 2:
I got up this morning (read: noon) and, as I expected, this had been fixed and I was able to log in as usual. I figured it affected multiple users, if not everyone on MAL, and from the comments I'm guessing I was right.
