The Vision of Escaflowne ep1-2
Catching up on the Anime Club episodes I missed. I'm not a fan of this series, though. The whole fantasy/sci-fi/mecha mixture made everything clash and seem out of place and I never took a liking to any of the characters. Maybe my opinions will change upon rewatching it, since it's been long enough that I barely remember any specifics, but the first two episodes here didn't do anything for me. No, not even the cat girl.

Shugo Chara!! Doki ep83
I loved Lulu owning the stupid Easter scientists. Plus she was just cute in her hooded fairy costume. But I can't quite figure out whether her helping out Ikuto was purely to cause trouble for Easter or if she actually had some sympathy for him. I always have to remember that Lulu hasn't had much contact with Ikuto, unlike all the other characters, so she doesn't know him that well.

The ? Egg transformation this week was pretty good. I laughed at Rima and Yaya getting forced into dancing. And being surrounded by a mob in tutus would be seriously unsettling.

Kanon ep17-18
Shiori~ She's so cute and adorable, I want to take her home. Like I mentioned before, her story really gets to me too. And I was going to write, "I really wish I had been able to make it to Anime Club so that I could've seen how everyone reacted to the dancing scene," but then I remembered Shin mentioning that only him and Michi watched Kanon last week. What's wrong with you people?

Shugo Chara!! Doki ep84
Finally, a decent amount of Rima! She's unbelievably cute when she's embarrassed. Nikaidou has become a pretty fun character, especially when the girls are poking fun at him. I wonder if he'll have a part to play in the big finale that's slowly (T-minus 18 episodes?) being crept towards. The ? Egg of the week was funny, though mainly because it kind of backfired on Lulu. Who is also incredibly cute both when she's embarrassed and when she's angry – especially both at the same time. Nana has become one of my favorite charas just because of how much she teases Lulu.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood ep8
The drawings of Barry that showed while he was telling his story were totally demented. I loved them.

Valkyria Chronicles ep6
I'm not sure whether to laugh at Jann or be very frightened. He's just... wow. I will let the screens do the talking. Irene's little rivalry with Alicia was hilarious and the interviews provided a great opportunity to showcase the various quirks of squad 7. I think Alicia finding her in the barrel was the funniest part of the entire episode for me.

Hatsukoi Limited ep7
I can never get enough of Koyoi. Pretty much every time she's on screen I'm either laughing or moeing or both. Her playing a DS while in line at the New Year's shrine visit and spazzing over fighting the end boss was cute and funny, but even better was when she related that to her meeting with Misaki on the way home. That scene was the best in the episode for me.

Tayutama -Kiss on my Deity- ep6-7
More Yumina = more Mizuhashi Kaori = win. Hou sticking to her head was amusing but the best part of these episodes was Mashiro and Nue explaining Hou and Ou's quarrel with crayon drawings.

Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ ep8
And everything finally starts going down. Of course you could see it coming a mile away, but it's all in the specifics with this sort of thing. I'm totally psyched to see how Ein and Zwei deal with Inferno.

Sengoku Basara ep2-3
I finally got around to watching some more of this. The first episode didn't interest me a whole lot but it's managed to hold my attention with these two. The split between seriousness and completely over the top battles plus comedy makes for an odd contrast. It's a little jarring sometimes but I can deal with it. And it's got a pet monkey in it. That's automatic win.

Hetelia: Axis Powers ep18
Yeah, I'd be pretty freaked out if I saw a giant Roman Empire in the sky singing about heaven and hell. The animators must've gotten lazy, though. They reused the entire fight scene.

Aria the Natural ep16-17
These two episodes are about Akari's gondola needing to be replaced and all the memories she's built up with it. At first my cynical side said, it's just a thing, there's no reason to get so emotional about it. But I can understand being attached to something that's played a significant role in your life for years. These episodes showed that in a really wonderful way. I especially liked the scenes showing Alicia's memories of also starting out as a Pair with the gondola and how it was passed down to new apprentices since the founding of Aria Company.

Hayate no Gotoku! ep25-29
No screens since I started watching this together with Shin. I'm really liking the second OP. The third ED is also good but it can't quite live up to the second by Kawada Mami.

The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya ep15-25
I decided to blast through the rest of these all in one go. (I think ep25 is the last one, anyway.) As usual, the best parts were the Achakura moments. The addition of Kimidori-san made them even weirder and more hilarious. I had to pause and just laugh for a while when I saw this shot. Now to wait for high quality DVD versions to replace the crappy YouTube rips.

Aria the Natural ep18-19
Ep18 is the one where everyone gets together for a barbecue and Aika accidentally burns part of her long hair and has to get it cut short. As you can imagine, that hits pretty close to home for me – I was always careful around open flames but after I first saw this episode I was even more paranoid. And when I started the episode this time I got a nice little sinking feeling in my gut as I realized which one it was. But it's also a big turning point in the series for Aika and, with Akira's help, she manages to come out of the ordeal a stronger person.

Ep19 also focused on Aika and a couple sides of her that we don't get to see very often. First her crybaby side and then her sappy, romantic side. We don't see them often because she works hard to keep them hidden. Because of that it's always quite a sight when the walls come down. I mean both figuratively and literally because it provided some great pillow moe.

Saki ep7
I have to admit, Nodoka hugging her penguin plushie is really cute. I'm having a hard time deciding whether it's cuter than Kana's cat ear-like hair. On the other hand, Yuuki's demented look as she started the second round was just scary.

The Vision of Escaflowne ep3-4 (Anime Club)
Having Fasteriskhead and the other Anime Club peoples around makes this series about five times more fun to watch.

Kanon ep19-20 (Anime Club)
We're right in the middle of the best part of the series. Shiori's story just finished, Ayu's story was left at a cliffhanger at the end of ep20, and the big revelations from Yuuichi's past are about to start being uncovered. Nayuki's story is up after Ayu's, which I also really like. The last third of the series really steps things up in the drama department.

Hayate no Gotoku! ep30-31
Picturing a little Nagi saying, "Saku-neechan~" and clinging to Sakuya is cute but seems terribly out of character. School girl Hayate with long pigtails was a rather disturbing trap. But at least Maria is cute when she goes into high school girl mode and spazzes over crossdressing Hayate.
