I felt my whole body shake in fear as the demons closed in. Then I caught sight of it...the big black dog. It was sitting next to tge lead demon, and it was staring at me. "Why won't you let me take care of these imbeciles my little Phoenix?" I closed my eyes and covered my ears...but I could still hear him. I could always hear him. "If you weren't such a chicken you could kill them yourself...but I refuse to let you put 'my' body in danger like this." I felt him trying to push my conciousness away. I was slipping away. He was shutting me away in the dark.

I felt when it happened, and I turned to look at Phoenix. I gave a small smirk. "Welcome back Memnoch." Those dead looking eyes locked onto me. He grinned, and it made my stomach turn to see such a face on Phoenix. "He's such a whimp. He has such strength...he just refuses to use it. If i were you i would have dumped his chicken a*s too." I felt a twinge in my heart. He was wrong. He lifted up Phoenix's scimitar and in the blink of an eye the first round of demons were dead.

All the other demons froze in confusion and I took advantage of their confusion. I pulled out my lighter and used the flame to throw a couple fireballs into their midst. Lila had turned to look at Phoenix. She seemed a little confused, but after I threw fireballs she snapped out of it and dove into the mass of demons. This wasn't going to take long. Demons were cocky. For halfbreeds we were still much stronger than they thought.
