Returning to a classic

Thanks to the invention of Tiktok, I am often reminded of shows that I watched long ago giving me a rush of nostalgia. After hearing the English op of Yu Yu Hakusho on that hell app, I had to go back and watch the whole thing. It is quite the experiencing revisiting this show as I am being bombarded with 90s Shonen tropes. Though I am reminded of Togashi's favorite inclusion: the gay.

As this is an early work, Togashi's execution of trans and gay characters is, in my opinion, clumsy yet I do give him points for trying and for even having representation in the first place. Both in Japan and here in America, gay representation was rare and it was even rarer to see a trans character, so even though it is a clumsy representation, it was representation and it was in a popular series.

I also realized that 12 year old me and 22 year old me are big brained for liking Hiei.

Returned yet again

Ay it ya girl! I'm back from a very awkward hiatus! I was off being a college student and a very big weeb!

That College Life

The trash can has gone to college. I am being intellectual stimulating. I haven't felt like this in years. It feels weird.

Swimming is Life

Today was the last swim meet for my school team as well as senior night. Senior night was great the younger team members worked their hardest to make the night great and I appreciate all the work they did. Also the meet went swimmingly (pun intended), we beat the other team and according to my coach I swam the best I ever swam this season.

Getting Back into the Swing of things

The three day break is coming to an end and I have to go back to school. I also have swim that day too as well as an evaluation on my mentor ship, so wish me luck there. I'm going to be dead tired, but at least my friend and I can write our beautiful fanfic in tech class.
