"I'm all done, Mrs. Diane!" I called when my tutor protested as I quickly jumped up and ran out of the room. Hearing her sigh behind me, I paused, before quickly continuing to my room on the third floor. Leo, my little black and white cat, perked his head up from my bed as I came in.
"Hey, pretty kitty~" I giggled as he purred. Just as I was about to boot up my computer, there was a flash from outside my window. Looking out, there was a huge light headed for my back yard. Curious, I wasted no time in rushing all the way downstairs, zipping past Mrs. Diane, and running, barefoot as usual, out onto the lawn. Something was glowing there, and it seemed to be waiting for me. Reaching into the ball of light, my hand clenched on a small piece of plastic. I hardly had time to glance at it before I heard my name.
"Ms. Xenon! Gracious child, get in here before you get yourself sick!" Mrs. Diane yelled from the door. Running inside, I nearly knocked her over as I whizzed through the doorway, and went straight up to my room. Closing my door and locking it, Leo's head shot up with time with the sudden slam.
Jumping onto my bed, he lazily stood up and yawned, before coming over to sit next to me. "What do you think it is?" I asked him as I stared at the little odd object. He just yawned nonchalently.
Deciding to see if the internet had an answer, I booted up the computer. Instead of the usual symbol though, strange symbols mixed with numbers appeared, and the next thing I knew, I was sitting in some strange place, surrounded by tall grass.
"H-hello? Where am I?" I called, hoping someone was nearby. Maybe I had been kidnapped!
Through the grass appeared two large eyes. Something gold glinted under them.
"Your in the digital world, Xenon!" said a female voice. From... the eyes? A cream colored creature pushed through the grass to stand in front of me. It looked like a puppy with some kind of gold collar around its neck. "I'm Salamon, your digimon!"
"Digi... mon?" I repeated.
"Yeah! Jeez, it's not that hard to understand is it?" she huffed.
"I-I guess not. So... it's like I'm inside a computer?"
"If you wanna say it that way. Hey!" her long ear perked up a little. "I hear others not too far away! C'mon, let's go!" She grabbed the edge of my dress in her mouth and tugged. I stood up and brushed off the white fabric and followed after her, to two other kids, a boy and girl.
