Wow you guys, I haven't been online in a bit.
Maybe at least a week. Or two.
It's a while when you don't have much time to pass.
Yesterday was my third day of work! Last...tuesday I was supposed to go in but I was rejected because I didn't have a Social Security card, which they needed. The ordeal made myself look like a fool, and it was hard to climb back up from that. I hate to blame things on my parents, but my mother was supposed to get that for me about seven months ago, so that day I may have said some heated things to a few friends...
But nothing to her! I kept my anger bit down.
But the next day my father took me to the nearest office and we were able to obtain a verification that I have ordered one! They gladly accepted that until I would get my card mailed to me, and I was able to work later that same day. :3
The first day I wasn't allowed to actually work at the register (I did for a good thirty minutes. The girl helping me was very nice and....outgoing. When scolded about letting me work the register, the girl told me that I did a good job anyway.) and the second I was able to work with my collage friend, Kit. ^^
Yesterday was my third day, I had a week since my first day.
Ohh! After my second day of working, Kit took me to see The Dark knight Rises.
Let me just say...That movie may have been the greatest I will ever see in the next year or two...By then I'd watch it again and the process would repeat itself. ^^ I absolutely loved it.
Though I do spread my sympathies to those unfortunate people who were at the shooting at one of the premieres. I had heard (and saw pictures) of Christian Bale (The actor who plays Bruce Wayne/ Batman) visiting those he could in the hospital who were in that event. I thought it was a very nice thing that he did. :)
Back to the topic of working, yesterday was an okay day. I got myself confused with checks and W.I.C.'s....The wics something I had never known about before... and may have accidently offended someone.... I was supposed to go on break and didn't notice a woman in my line (She was sorta standing where my light pole was) and only saw her as I reached to turn off the light. I told her I was supposed to go on break and she became angry, claiming she had been standing there.
;; I felt so bad for that mistake. of course I rang her up, she only had one item, and I apologized many times.
;; I still feel terrible about it. First time I offended a customer.
Oh, and that's not the only mistake. A man was buying some beer and I told him that I believed he was old enough to have it, and I think I offended him with the remark. I didn't mean it in a bad or joking way, I was just stating so he wouldn't have to pull out his ID....
Ahhh, but those were the only two I believed I incovienced. I met a family from Europe who was nice, who had also bought alcohol. I told them that I believed they were old enough (They had children and the man was abviously past 21...) and his wife exclaimed that at least in the store I worked at, we had some sense. They mentioned still having to be carded...
Oh! And I had a conversation with this family (More so the father and his son) about Batman, due to the son's Batman: Arkham City shirt. :3 It was neat and allowed me to relax more so as I went into a topic I could easily relate to.
And...hmm...That's it. For the work. This sunday I have to work and, if I'm schedualed to, I may work on my birthday. My parents have both explained that they will not have the money to get my gifts on that day, and it would have to be the week after. Which is understandable. And birthday's are normally regarded as something not so important as people grow older, and I am nearly 17.... I should be getting used to the fact that it's just another day. ^^; I just like being able to have gifts.
Hmm...Oh, my grandma is in town so I'm going to be spending time with her as I can. She just came today with her husband, but she's staying somewhere else tonight. She should stay until Saturday. ^^
