it was decided by yuki that I go with adam to get some berries for our potion,even though the task at hand was simple my determination to prove myself was high nevertheless,while yuki and pais get some ice from a mountain,I don't trust adam,but that's all the more reason to go,I can get to know him better..with or without his consent.
We had already reached our destination and collected enough berries,I wanted to get an extra jar for a potion of my own,while adam wanted us to leave as soon as possible.
"we already got what we came for,we need to go back now incase the others already got the ice" adam says in a commanding tone,I gesture a swatting motion with my arm as I talk back,"if you're so eager to leave then do,I will catch up with you before you notice."
he stays silent for a second then talks."fine..Don't expect me to comeback looking for you if you don't make it on time." he says that and starts walking away,and "make it on time"? "What did he mean by that,I may be weak in comparison but I am not slow,and unlike most of the players here I picked up a sword before I started playing,they just swing wide and hope
for a hit" I start picking berries from a nearby bush,Adam and I barely had any exchange of dialogue,if there's one thing that's clear it's that he is hiding something,most of the time it feels like he has something on the tip of his tongue,he trusts no one and seemingly has everything planned out,I can only describe him as dangerous..for the time being at least.
I finish picking the last couple of berries,it was getting somewhat dark,"I have a bad feeling about this.." I start walking towards the exit of the forest.
-suddenly I hear the sound of footsteps to my right side,my hearing stat was high for my level something I used to regret..until now,a single iceine leaps out of the bushes straight at me,I was expecting an attack so I jumped back and dodged,this iceine was different somehow..the fur thickness around his kneck made it look like a tiger,and it was larger than normal iceines.
"different or not,a single iceine is no match for me!",this iceine was rather bulky with much bigger claws,my obelisk shield can't take much from that,I chant up my obelisk blade when I notice someone in the distance running towards us-it was adam.
Adam jumps above the iceine and lands next to me,sword unsheathed."I thought you said you were'nt coming back" I say with a smirk,"I can handle one Iceine" adam is staring intently at my glowing hand,he looked..worried for some reason,he finally starts talking."this is no normal Iceine,it's an alpha version,a leader." he says in a serious tone "so?" I ask,"so he is not even comparable to the normal type in strengh"
I look at the growling beast then back at adam,my chanting is finished and my obelisk blade is ready,again for some reason adam looks worried more than earlier."I guess you know about my obelisk now,you can examine it later,we have bigger problems at hand."
as I finish that,adam jumps at the iceine and starts slicing at it's body,he took some hits but the iceiene was left barely standing in a matter of minutes,"you finish it off you need the exp,this is a rare spawn you should level up a bit"
I said nothing..I just took a few steps forward and stabbed the iciene through the skull with my obelisk blade,I leveled up more than once,I think this thing could have killed me were it not for adam's help.
"so this is what you meant earlier by making it on time?"
he sheathes his sword and starts talking,he looked angry."you catch on quickly,if only you weren't so bent on getting yourself killed,make no mistake,I only helped you for my own sake,if you were to die here,yuki would have blamed me for it",I thought so myself,still,something still bothers me,"what do you know about my obelisk? you looked at it like it was some kind of threat.",he doesnt say anything and starts walking towards the exit,I grab his arm and stop him"I'm talking to you!" he brushes my arm away and says something."that power of yours is something high mage class players have,why you have it is unkown to me,yours is different." I am puzzled by his words,but now I know more about my powers,if this belongs to mages,maybe I can use healing magic?.I take an old spell book I bought a while back out of my inventory,I look for a healing spell,I only found the first one in the game,I hold my hand up and start doing random gestures as I read the spell..adam is looking at me in an amused tone."you bring stubborness to a whole new level"he is obviously fighting the desire to burst into laughter at my poses,at least I managed to lighten up the mood,I quit my posing and turn to adam,I could have taken that iceine alone but still."thanks for helping me back there"
I offer a handshake and he takes my hand,suddenly my obelisk starts glowing in a green color,adam is startled and let's go of my hand,"what did you do?!" adam pulls his sword and points at me for second,then he notices something and asks as he holds out his hand."do that again." I take his hand and my obelisk starts glowing again,I notice adam's health increasing slowly.
"whoa! I can do healing magic now!",perfect,I never Imagined myself as a healer,now I have leveled slightly and acquired healing magic,this trip has went better than I could have ever hoped for,and maybe I am more of use to the group now,learning better healing magic should be my top priority,we resume walking towards the exit,I pull out my harmonica but before I am able to play anything adam stops me,"that will draw more monsters to our position",I should have considered that,I guess my good mood was clouding my judgement,
finally after what seemed like an eternety of walking we made it out of the forest,"alright,let's head back to the inn..you lead the way" adam just keeps walking,in a faster pace now after I asked him to lead.
I wonder how yuki and pais are doing.
