Brun raced out of the small stone house he shared with his brother to the edge of the waterfall and jumped, turning into a magnificent black dragon in midair. "Brother the academy starts tomorrow!!!" he roared, scaring a few birds out of the trees, hovering over the crystal waters of the river. From inside their house his brother called, "I know that! Will you quit flying around like an idiot and attracting attention and just come inside?!" sounding very annoyed. Brun snickered to himself, smoke coming out his nose and landed with a thud on the river bank. He turned his head to look into their house, "but we should leave today! It's a long ways you know." he said innocently. Anemos's purple eyes flashed from inside, "I know that, we're leaving later so save your energy and come eat something." Brun lowered his head to the ground and huffed, blowing smoke, "alriiight." he shrunk back into his thin fit human from and went inside to find that Anemos has put out a plate for him for breakfast. Brun thanked his brother and ate hungrily while Anemos went into a back room to gather up their belongings.

The brothers, one dark, sparkling black, the other glittering green, leaped off the edge of the waterfall cliff and unfurled their wings, flapping hard to gain altitude over the massive trees of their home. Each had a backpack clutched in one scaly paw full of what few things they needed for that year of school at Evermind Academy. The sky was clear over the trees and the weredragons flew fast, with no resistance from the wind, to their school. By nightfall they landed in the courtyard, shifting back into humans as they headed into the large stone building.
