Faerydae flapped her fiery wings and lifted off from her clearing with a back pack in her hands. It was still early morning and the sun was barely above the trees, lighting up their tops with its warm glow. She smiled, she would definitely get to the academy before lunch time, that way she could go into the small town near it to get something to eat. As she flew she came over a patch of dead forest, the trees all fallen down and dead and no plants. Faerydae dipped low into the clearing and, reaching into the pouch she always kept at her waist, sprinkled some fire lily seeds around the dead patch. Then flying up higher she set the seeds on fire, giving them the heat they needed to start growing. A few sprouted immediately, their red and gold petals brightening up the black around them. Smiling again Faerydae continued flying.
Alighting in the main street of the little town Faerydae was glad to have a rest from flying, her wings were aching. She glanced around then headed into the nearest restaurant, Gaelin's Tavern it was called. And after a nice lunch and a trip around town, it was a little past sunset so she took flight again and spanned the short distance between the town and the school in a few minutes. She had just landed and was walking into the school when the ground shuddered underneath her. Turning around Faerydae saw two large dragons folding their wings in the courtyard. One she could only see because of the fading light of the sunset was reflecting in its black scales. The other sent millions of tiny flecks of light around the courtyard from its green scales. Faerydae caught her breath as the two great dragons shifted into two boys, both pale skinned with hair to match the color of their dragon scales. Weredragons...they do exist, she thought, awed.
