Yuki
"Yuki!" someone seemed to shout. Ah, that was the noise, my name. I turned around, still feeling uncomfortable in my skin, to see Brokentear frozen and collapsed on the ground, looking sick and weak. I don't think I'd been this terrified for someone else in a long time. I ran to him, panic racing through my veins, and cursed when I saw he was trapped in his head.
"Brokentear," I called, shaking his shoulder. No response, at least, not from him. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, and goosebumps appeared on my skin. I felt like we weren't alone, and when I turned, I saw I was right. Eyes, multiple sets of glowing eyes, though I saw no bodies to go with them, surrounded us, watching with a sick glee and bruning hatred.
"Brokentear, brokentear," resounded around us, each pair of eyes seeming to say his name. I crouched protectively next to him and growled, and got a chorus of cracked laughter in return.
"Leave us," I hissed, turning so I could meet every set of eyes, "None of you are welcome here." I got another chorus of laughter for my effort, all of it sounding like nails on a chalkboard, but they dissappeared, though I got the sense that they were still among us. Turning back to Brokentear, I looked at how he seemed to be in pain, and felt my heart clench.
"I'm sorry," I murmured, cursing my curiousity. He didn't react, and I did the only thing I could do in this situation, seeing as I couldn't carry him. It had taken a lot of effort simply to pick him up and spin him around, much less the energy it would take to carry him out of here. So I did the one thing that had kept me sane so long ago. Cupping a hand in front of his face a careful distance away, I let the necessary energy flow to my hand, a small flame growing in my hand until it could be seen above my fingertips.
"Brokentear," I called again, "Focus. Light. See? The dark isn't so bad when there's hope for light. It's not suffocating, not drowning, not trying to pull you under, because the light keeps it at bay. Come on, don't you want to see what's on the otherside of the light? Don't you want to see life again?" I coaxed, forcing false cheefulness into my voice. I scanned his face, and a smile lit up my face when he blinked. "Can you get up?" I asked.
Setsuna
Poison. He couldn't breathe normally because of a poison that had been curable long ago, though the method of which to fix it was one I could not recall. He looked nervous now, probably not used to explaining the mask to someone. It was a shame, had this been a different time, he could have been cured as soon as it had happened. Ah, but I digress. I did the only thing I could, because pity was not something anyone wanted. I made an attmept to make hime blush.
"Probably just as well," I said, and watched in dark amusement as his eyes widened and he looked both hurt and stunned. I hid a grin and continued, after all, I had no intentions of making him hate me.
"You rival the most beautiful angels now, as you are, and I'd hate to have to compete for your attention without it. That mask may seem like a curse to you, but I see it as a good thing, because it keeps others away who would steal your attention, and I'm quite the jealous type." I told him, sincere in every word I'd said, and I watched in amazement and amusement as he went still then exploded in the reddest blush I had ever seen, watching it light up his entire face and sink below the shirt he wore.
At the look in his eyes, embarrassed and unbelieving, I smiled. "Please believe me when I say that I would not lie to you, not for anything or anyone. You really are an angel in disguise, and I'm quite pleased to tell you so." I said sweetly.
(I hope this is okay. It's just so much fun, making Setsu tease and Yuki a savior in disguise. Anyways, welcome back Cheri-chan, and nice introduction DA-chan.)
