Meanings

"I think the better question is, who might you be?" the blonde boy replied as a grin broke out across his lips, pulling his lips back to expose his pearly whites. "I might be called Ethan. Or I might not be. Though I'm almost certain that I am."

I walked towards him, a smile playing on my lips. I looked at him through my dark lashes as I sat down on the bench in front of the white roses he had been examining before I had interrupted him.

"Did you know that there are special meanings behind each of the roses?" I asked. Ethan didn't say anything. Just looked at me expectantly. It seemed I had surprised him with my question. Though, I suppose since this was our first meeting, jumping to this was a little out of the ordinary. "Like red roses mean love, like everyone already knows. Pink means thank you or appreciation. Yellow means I care. Orange is desire."

"What does white mean?" he asked, coming to stand beside me.

"Innocence. Secrecy. Which would make their placement here very appropriate as this place seems to be quivering with secrets," I answered as I turned to look him in the eyes. He had the most gorgeous sky, blue eyes I had ever seen.

"You're a strange woman. You haven't even given me your name, but you gave me quite the rose lesson." He seemed to be amused more than put off, which made me smile.

"I'm not your typical girl," I kissed him on the cheek swiftly before I moved to head into the castle. "You going to show a girl around?" He stared after me. "It's Akane."

"What?" he took a step forward to follow me.

"My name. It's Akane." And I slipped through the entrance of the gardens without bothering to look if Ethan was behind me.

I hope that was okay. I'm really brain dead right now. (You can read in my world why).
