Hunger

"Good-morning," Brokentear said, giving me a smile. I blinked from the thoughts in my head and turned to look at him, unconsciously running my thumb over his wrist again. I blinked and then giggled at the face he made after his yawn and smiled back at him.

"Good-morning," I murmured, not bothering to be loud and annoying this early in the morning. I just didn't have the energy quite yet to be my normal spontaneous self. "Thank you for staying the night, I really needed an uninterrupted sleep." I told him, smiling gratefully at the man in my bed.

I covered a tired yawn with my hand, then slowly sat up, grimacing when I felt some of my hair stick up. I hated bed-head with a passion, although I hated it less when Brokentear chuckled at my plight.

I grumbled under my breathe and crawled over Brokentear's half asleep body so I could get out of bed, conveniently forgetting my own side, and then padded over to my bag, digging halfheartedly until I found my hair brush, then proceeded to make the bed hair go away, grumbling when the brush caught on my collar.

Fixed up and feeling a bit more normal, my head lolled back so I could look up at the ceiling and think for a moment. After coming to a conclusion, sort of, I crawled back into my bed and flopped down, head somehow resting on Brokentears' stomach, and grumbled some more about the morning.

"I'm hungry," I murmured,"But I don' wanna get out of bed, too comfy," I pouted slightly and reached out so I could feel his pulse over his heart.

"Yes, but morning means another day I can spend with you." Forever said, smiling like that thought brought him a large amount of joy. I looked at him stupidly for a moment before a huge smile lit up my face, warm and contagious.

"Perfect, absolutely perfect," I murmured, burying my head into his shoulder again to hide the huge warmth spreading across my cheeks. Blushes did not fit with my character, after all.

As nice as it was to be spending all this time with Forever, an insistent ache had started in the middle of my shoulder-blades and was working it's way up my wings, each feather touched by the ache pounding in time with my heartbeat. I grumbled some more and pulled away, shifting around to see if I could make the pounding go away. No such luck.

"Forever, darling angel boy, would there happen to be a balcony anywhere near?" I asked, smiling down at the confused boy. He nodded and led me out of his room to a room a few doors down, empty and with a balcony. We walked to the balcony, myself in the lead, and I stopped him just inside the room.

"I'm gonna need some room, love, but you'll be able to come out with me soon enough." I told him, pecking his lips lightly, then walked out onto the balcony, lifting my shirt as I did. Yes, there were slits in the back so that I could fly with a shirt on, but in times where I needed a full stretch, no shirt was necessary. Slowly, painfully, I extended the pure black wings, vaguely wishing they were the golden white-blue fire wings I had possessed before my fall.

Feeling better once they were fully extended and flapping idly, I turned to the boy behind me and smiled. "What do you think?" I asked.
