I watched as Ethan pulled away from me and headed for the bed. He didn't look very well, and I was concerned he was going to fall before he made it to the bed. I rushed to his side, walked behind him in case he needed me. He made it safe and sound, plopping onto it, falling asleep almost instantly.
I shook my head, a smile on my face as I sad down next to him. I ran a hand over his face marveling how peacefully he looked. We hadn't eaten in awhile. Maybe I'd go down to the kitchen, bring us up some snacks. I decided to do just that, leaving Ethan on the bed.
Getting out of the room, I was able to explore a bit of the castle, and it took me a few minutes longer to find the kitchen. I grabbed a tray, found some cheese, crackers, and slices of ham. That would do just fine. Maybe I'd make us some tea while I was at it. But, I didn't know when he'd be up, and it'd get cold. I grabbed a pitcher of lemonade out of the fridge, placed it on the tray beside everything else, and headed back upstairs.
Humming to myself, I opened the door to my room, and I started to head to the bed to place the tray on the night table beside it. However, when I glanced over at Ethan, I found a woman in his place. Dropping the tray on the table, I inspected this new person more closely.
She had the same blonde hair, the same complexion, the same body structure. If I didn't know any better, I'd say she was a female version of Ethan. How could that be, though?
It was as I was hovering over her that the girl opened her eyes. My mouth dropped open, but no sound came out as I shuffled away from her.
"Ah.. Akane?" She looked to be just as confused as I was. All I could do was stare wide eyed at her as she sat up and looked around.
"Who are you?" I finally managed to get out. "And how do you know my name? Where did Ethan go?" This girl, when she looked at me, I saw she had Ethan's eyes. What, was she some sort of twin of his? Either way, I didn't think I was going to like whatever it was she was going to tell me.
