Why Now?

[Break]

She took off her red dress and black high heeled shoes and wore a short and t-shirt before turning on the TV. As she flipped through the channels she muttered

"Boring, stupid, boring, stupid....ugh!!!!"

There was nothing good to watch, nothing that could take her mind off the newly weds. I knew I should have rented some movies. The wedding ceremony had started at 12 in the afternoon and ended at two, yet it was only one. Yuri had skipped out the moment she tried to step through the doors entering the room where the couple would say their vows.

Why Now?

Well, here's the first one:

She walked to the mailbox and opened it. She reached inside to find a single envelope. Surprise that anyone would even send her a letter since she lived so far off in the mountains, secluded from the city, she quickly opened it. Inside was a letter and her eyes quickly searched it from left to right. She slowly lowered the letter and stared off into the distance. Closing the door behind her as she stepped inside her house, she stood against it. Slowly falling to the ground her tears like the fallen leaves during the fall fell. Why? Why?She thought. How could he just do this to me after all these years?! She looked at the letter and read the lines: ...marry this Saturday....Sincerly, Kentaro... She replayed the lines over and over again in her mind, not believing the only man she had loved and had promised to marry her no matter what had sent her a letter with those words. Filled with anger and grief, she tore the letter and was about to the envelope when she felt something else inside it. Her hand slowly took out a small golden heart-shaped necklace with a dove connected to the inside and a picture of the couple. She recognized his face but took a while at knowing who the girl was. At first she thought it was someone she did not know at all but one close look and she knew who it was. Her tears stopped automatically. The girl in the picture arm-in-arm with the man she loved was her best friend.

Yuri entered the church doors of the town she had once lived in. She turned her head to look at how the decorations of the church and how beautiful it should have been had it been her wedding. To her, it was the ugliest thing she had ever seen. It was as ugly as the smile on the couple's faces in the picture. People rushed by her, all talking at once.

"I can't believe they're getting married!"
"This is so wonderful! They are the perfect couple!"

Hearing the brag about the couple disgusted her.If you knew the pain of enduring that letter and that smile you'd know my pain, she thought. You'd know how it felt like to be betrayed by the people you loved and trusted the most. She looked at the ground then up at the design. How do you even tell the wedding planner to plan such a dull and boring theme on your wedding day? The room was of bouquet of roses on both sides of the wall of the entry way to the main room of the wedding ceremony and yellow roses hanging from the top of the ceiling. A red carpet was enrolled on the white ceramic tile floor leading to the main room. Yuri decided to give up about the decorations; it wasn't drawing her attention away from the thought of the couple and how happy they were. She fixed her strapless, red knee-length dress with her brown curled hair and walked down the red carpet to the main room with her black two inch high heeled shoes with her black purse in one hand. The wedding ceremony was about to start.
