The Book

As you may or may not know, the reason that members the LDS church are often called "Mormons" is because of our belief in a second book of scripture (other than the Bible) called The Book of Mormon, which illustrates God's hand in the lives of the people in the Americas during the time that much of the Bible takes place (From about 600 B.C. to 400 A.D.), and since Ninja asked in his latest email that we express our feelings and thoughts on it on social media, I've decided to bring it to you.

This is a very special book to me. I can feel God's love envelop me as I read it. There are amazing role models in this book and amazing life lessons. It brings so much more to me than the Bible alone could. After all, Heavenly Father is the God of the entire world. Why would he bring his church to one side of the world and not the other? I can testify that, beyond a doubt, this book is (in the words of Joseph Smith, the prophet who translated the book using God's power) "the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” ~Introduction, The Book of Mormon. I can testify beyond a shadow of a doubt that if you read this book with sincere intent, it will bless you in your life.

If you want to read it, you can read it online, you can get it on a (free) app entitled "Gospel Library" (it will be plain black with the silhouette of a man (the Angel Moroni, by the way) using a trumpet to declare the gospel to the world), contact the missionaries near you, or go to a church near you. You don't have to, but I would love it if you checked it out, even just for a little bit. ^^
