Chapter 2
The Sakimoto's had requested some tea and company so my father asked me to go up to the room. I calmly walked up the stairs to their room and knocked on the door. I took a deep breath and put on a smile. Ren answered the door. "Oh! Hello I've brought your tea." I said. He smiled and beckoned me inside. I set the tea down onto the small table in the middle of the room and took a seat. I looked around the room and the rest of the family wasn't there.
"Well hello there Sayuri." Ren greeted me and sat by me. "Hello Ren." I said and looked down at my clenched fists. He sipped his tea calmly."The rest have gone out to the town to do some shopping. I decided to stay." He explained. "Oh." I replied. "You seem tense. Are you alright?" He asked. "I'm fine. The guests have just been a bit demanding today. Busy, busy, busy." I answered.
I saw his hand move to my chin and tilt my head up so our eyes were locked together. "Don't always look down. You have such a nice eyes." He instructed. "A-As do you." I stuttered. He smiled. "I get that a lot." He said and dropped my chin. "Well it's a very uncommon eye colour. They're so green. Like gems." I said. "Hmm. I guess." He nodded. I took a sip of the tea.
"So what do you think of the town?" I asked him. "It's very large, but some of the shops are meaningless." He replied. "There are some like that." I laughed. "And the Inn? Anything that should be improved?" I questioned further. "It's really good actually. Good food. And staff." He glanced at me. "Thank you. It's our family's pride and joy." I smiled.
The clatter of horse hooves rang outside. "Looks like they're back. I better get going." I said and stood up. I turned to leave but he grabbed my hand. "Wait! Promise that you'll come back again sometime?" He asked, a pleading look in his bright green eyes. "Of course. See you later Ren!" I agreed and headed out. I thumped against the wall and held my hands to my chest. My face was getting hotter by the second and I let go of a deep breath. "Ren...what do you think of me?" I thought and headed down the stairs.
