Gemstone Eyes
Chapter 12
I woke up in the morning, groggy and in pain. A small plate with some tea and onigiri lay beside my bed. I remembered fully what had happened the night before. I carefully propped myself up, cringing at my tightening muscles and took the tea. "It's still hot. What time is it anyways?" I thought to myself. A few minutes passed and I munched on the onigiri. "I don't want to stand up and get mother but..." I sighed and stayed put.
After 20 minutes I heard footsteps. "Mother? Father?" I called. The feet stopped and the door opened. My mother bustled in. "Sayuri! Your finally awake. How do you feel?" She asked. "I feel good, just some sore muscles and my ankle." I answered. "The doctor bandaged it up for you. He said to be careful." She smiled. "When did I get here?" I questioned. "You were passed out when that boy came with you. Your fortunate he was there. Your fathers furious about the whole situation though." She sighed.
"I'm just glad your okay Sayuri. Akemi is gone, left just last night. You'll be safe." My mother said, pushing my bangs away from my face. "Now, I have to get back to work. I'll check up on you every so often. Don't you dare move from this spot!" She commanded and left. Of course I didn't stay there. I wanted to see Ren. To know what had happened last night.
I limped over to his room and pushed open the door. My eyes scanned the room for him. "Sayuri! Your awake. You okay?" He asked. I smiled and hobbled over to where he sat, closing the door behind me. "I'm good. Just my ankle. I'll be better in a few days." I assured him. "That's a relief. I was worried..." He trailed off. I put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm fine." I smiled. He nodded. "Ren, how did you find me? I didn't see you follow us..." I paused.
"I just saw the last bit. Akemi was following you but I managed to lose him and then chased after you. I'm just glad that your good." His eyes seemed slightly glazed over, remembering the scene. "He left, by the way. Mother said so." I told him. He gave a small sigh. "Don't scare me like that again, Sayuri. You mean to much to lose." He said quietly. I nodded. "Mother will be back soon. I should go now. I'll visit you later. See you." I said and lightly kissed him on the cheek before leaving.

How dare she defile me! To run away from me, reject me like that I will not let this pass, something will be done. That boy...he has a connection. He must have watched us, must know something. He probably found her. I'll make her wish she'd never left me. Make him wish he'd never hit me. Tear them apart.
