Dragon Ball Z (short review and impression)

Sequel of the famous and critically acclaimed Dragon Ball, takes on a whole different level. This is the one that became the most popular and the one that people think most when someone mentions ‘Goku’.

It is set several years after the happenings of Dragon Ball with new treats coming and new adventures to be made. The actual style of drawing and animations hasn’t changed, though it has gotten a little better, especially by the effects (which was absolutely needed because this time there are way more Ki attacks than just famous Ka-me-ha-me-ha wave). Soundtrack is still the same as well as voice acting, pretty decent for its time, but can’t compete with new modern series. Then again it shouldn’t, you probably won’t hear much more than just bangs and noises made by character in all out battles. They are so breath taking that at those moment you will forget everything else, but also you will understand on how long they can drag which became even somewhat a parody for this series.

As for that, it is long. It doesn’t follow the same classic adventure style like the original, but it does still keep the importance of Dragon Balls here. As it progresses many more characters come and we learn more of Goku’s origins resulting in ever more interest that you can get from watching this and if you get bored from the main series, just sit back and look through the huge collection of video games that it has to display. It probably is the anime with most related video game releases and while half of them are just about average, other ones may proof interesting and even if the story of DBZ never changes it still tries to offer some refreshments keeping you ever so interested in this continues saga.

At the end I have to say that this is definitely one of the most legendary anime ever released. It deserves that title because it was one of the first ones released in the West which actually became popular. It was thanks to this that many anime became what they are today and it will always remain the best work that the famous Akira Toriyama had to display.
