Candy Boy (short review and impression)

The title can be quite misleading, but the again it is only there for its own purpose somewhat connected to this series.

This anime is actually an ONA (original network animation) which may appear unique for that, but definitely not the first one. The episodes are shorter than usual and there is a not whole lot of them. But the overall quality still remains the same as it should and by that I mean a high quality.

The quality of the animations and soundtrack, yes, but what about the actual plot? This anime is a yuri, but a very soft one. Most of the time if you are not paying attention you might not even recognize it, but there are no male characters at all in this one and to put it bluntly they are not many characters here at all. The story centers around two twin sisters and their life as they moved from Hokkaido to Tokyo to study at a well respect art high school. The story gets somewhat more complicated from that, but not too much actually. It is by its own regards a very calm and relaxing anime. They are some climaxes and some critical points, but they go away quickly resulting in a happy and as I mentioned quite soft and relaxing end of an episode. There are also some comedic moments taking the third character into play who got interested in one of the sisters but can never get her full attention.

Overall this anime is nothing special, but it doesn’t even try to be like that. It is a short, but sweet anime with lots of interesting moments all that compiled with some beautiful scenery and animations. Even if you are not a fan of yuri, you can still enjoy this. As I said, it just tries to be play.
