Dragon Half (short review and impression)

This is another one of the classic series and one that had great potential to become a well known anime. These days it is usually known by more careful anime watchers who want to try and find this jewel to watch. It was released in N. America as well, but it quickly well into oblivion of memories. Partially for that was at that time the advertising and popularity of these kind of anime, but also that this series was never actually finished…

It is an OVA based on the manga by the same name. Only two episodes (or volumes if you prefer) were released and two more were expecting more to come. They never did because of the cost of this anime. Still one should note that for its time it was a great anime. Short, but sweet nevertheless. The characters did a good job trying to do all sorts of random things with somewhat usual wishes (wanting to meet the famous prince or in this case the famous dragon slayer) while going actually through all sorts of obstacles. Like the title says, the main heroine is a half dragon, half human. How that works? Watch to find out!

The voice acting in the English version is kind of edgy and sometimes nail breaking, but I didn’t expect anything more from that time of anime releases. The ending still isn’t changed and it remains to be one of the most random and classic endings that you will ever see. It is all about… eggs… Don’t know what more to say.

Overall this is a classic comedy anime, which is not long and can be even watched multiple times, so definitely give it a try. Just a fair warning, in the last scene on of the second episode there is an unexpected scene. Not that much, but you would actually think that they would cover that up somehow. Is it for you good or bad, well that depends on the preferences. Enjoy~!
