The lights from the police sirens shone on the apartment complex. A crowd had gathered around the area, curious to see what had happened. Off to the side stood Shino, a police officer comforting her.
“A-are you sure she won’t come back?”
“Don’t worry, she won’t be getting out anytime soon,” he assured her.
“SHINO!”
The two whipped their gazes over to the girl in cuffs. Although the girl may have lost the battle, she still had a few choice words.
“Shino! I’ll always love you! Always! Forever and ever and ever and ever and-”
The noise temporarily ceased as the girl was stuffed into the police car. But beyond the glass, one could still see her lips moving.
‘Forever and ever…’
The words rang in Shino’s head, causing her to shudder. She turned back to the police officer and asked, “Are you really sure about that?”
“W-well, it should be fine… should be…”
As the police car pulled away, the girl continued her mantra. “Forever and ever, Shino… FOREVER.”
