Hime led Kiki, Mocha and Dante up the stairs to the room where Chero was standing outside of the metal door.
“Oh? You found everyone else. Let’s go back to the fireplace room and have an emergency meeting,” Chero said.
She knocked on the door, “Did you hear that, Dino?”
Dino walked out, “Si…”
“Are you ok? Do you want to stay a bit longer?” she asked.
Dino shook his head, “It is alright. I won’t need to come back here for a while.”
Dino took Chero’s hand and scanned the faces that Hime brought with her, “Did you
find Danni yet?”
Hime frowned, “No…Not yet…But we will.”
Dante’s face fell, “Danni is missing?”
“We’ll explain later. Let’s get to the safe room,” Hime said.
A pained expression crossed Dante’s face, “Right…”
Hime stood in front of the table as her friends sat to listen to what she had to
say. Chero and Dino stood near the fire place, comforting each other.
“First of all. We all know that Danni got a text message from Dante telling us that you were here. Chero thought it would be fun, so we all came here.”
Hime closed her eyes, “I looked around to investigate a noise and while I was
gone…That monster you saw attacked Danni, Chero and Dino.”
“Were all of you alright at that moment?” Kiki asked.
“Yeah. All three of us split up…and the monster followed me. And since I am pretty fast and can use teleportation magic, I got away,” Chero said.
“You got away? Amazing,” Dante praised.
“We eventually all met up and spent the night in this room. We felt as though it
was safe…because we had the key.”
“Night?” Mocha questioned, “That’s odd…because we…Please continue.”
Chero frowned, “Can I burn this wooden box? We have run out of fuel…”
Dino nodded, “Yes…We should burn anything we can…”
Chero nodded and plopped the box into the fire.
“Danni took the first watch. And…well…all three of us fell into a deep sleep.”
Hime continued, “When we woke up…Danni was gone. There was a trail of blood in
the hallway, so I followed it…But eventually they were gone.”
Chero nodded, “We tried looking for here too…But Dino and I stayed put, so Hime could find us easier. And that way my energy was saved up just in case Danni was hurt badly. This place blocks most of my magic…”
“That’s when you found them, right?” Dino asked.
Hime nodded, “And that is what happened to us so far…I thought for sure Jenny and
Francis would have come with you…”
Kiki nodded, “Yeah…all five of us came here. We split into two groups. Francis and I went upstairs, while Mocha, Jenny and Dante explored the first floor. I also checked the third and fourth floor on a dare from Francis. I came back down to look for Francis…and he was gone. I also found Danni’s burnt clothes in this room.”
Kiki paused, “When I returned to the first floor, Dante and Mocha were already fighting that thing…”
“You said Jenny came too, ne? What happened to her?” Chero asked.
“Dante and I were teasing Jenny for saying we were in a horror movie…” Mocha started.
“Jenny screamed and was knocked to the wall by that giant monster. I fired at it with my guns, but it seemed to do nothing…”
“Ahh… That explains the gun shots I heard!” Kiki exclaimed.
“The monster knocked me out…and when I came to…Jenny was gone,” Mocha frowned.
“I had to keep Mocha safe, so unfortunately…I had to run with Mocha…” Dante sighed.
Kiki could tell the gentle giant was angry with himself.
“It’s not your fault…You did what you could,” she said.
“Anyways…Dante and I went to look for Jenny…And decided to start in the kitchen.
Which is when the thing attacked us again and Kiki showed up. Then Hime showed up
and helped,” Mocha said.
“We have three people missing. Our priority should be finding them…” Dante said.
“Oh!” Chero exclaimed, “There was something in that wooden box. Let me get it out.”
“Be careful, amore!” Dino called.
Chero nodded and bent over to dig through the ashes.
“OUCH!” she cried, pulling out some hot metal, “It’s a key!”
Dino hurried over and took the hot key from his girlfriend’s hand and kissed the burn.
“We should split up…We should never travel in less than two people in a group,”
Hime said.
THUMP! THUMP!
Dante cussed, “Looks like this place is no longer safe…”
“Chero, you and Dino find the door that key belongs too.” Hime said, “I’ll stay and fight the thing.”
“I’ll help you.” Dante said, “I want to get another crack at him.”
“Mocha and I will go investigate that piano room. It needs more exploring,” Kiki
said.
“Chero, if you and Dino find the room, meet Kiki and I in the piano room,” Mocha said.
“R-right! Be careful Hime, Dante…”
“Alright. Everyone get ready to go. Dante and I will hold him to allow you to
escape.” Hime said, “Good luck!”
The grey monster bursts through the door. Hime unsheathed her katana and Dante pulled Rebellion off his back.
