OtakuOni: Chapter Fourteen

“I’ll get these two!”

“Hime, are you alright?!”

“I’ll take care of it; just do your best, Kiki!”

Francis panted, “It’s really tough now. I’m getting exhausted and my sword can barely cut through it!”

“Let’s attack at once!” Danni said.

“One, two, three!” Dante said

Dante, Francis and Danni all attacked at once, making the monster fade.

“Hime, jump. I’ll distract it for you,” Tsukino said.

“Thank you!” Hime said.

Tsukino attacked the monster, making it look at her. Hime jumped and attacked it, making the final blow.

Leon, Kiki, and Mocha finished off the last monster in the room together.
“Thank God...”Hime said, “Somehow we managed to beat them…”

“Chero’s journal made a lot disappear, and yet that was still a lot for us to fight. Nice work Chero-” Kiki praised, but stopped when she could not locate Chero.

“Chero?” Tsukino questioned.

“Chero? Hey…she’s gone…” Dante said.

Danni looked around the room, “Dino’s gone too!”

“And Jenny as well,” Mocha said.

“So…Cher, Dino and Jenny are gone. They were the ones closest to the journal…” Leon said.

“There were so many enemies…I did not even notice she was gone!” Hime tsked.

“Don’t beat yourself up, Hime…” Kiki said.

“Do you think they are gone because of the journal?” Dante asked.

“Gone…as….in….dead?” Francis hoped not.

“That’s impossible! I’ll look for Mama, Papa and Wifu! Er….but…um…where…” Danni said.

The song SIGN started to play.

“Whose phone?” Leon asked.

“Mine.” Hime said answering it, “This is Hime.”

“What took you so long?!”

“Oh! It’s been a long time. I’m sorry for worrying you. What is wrong?” Hime asked.

“Sorry? Sorry? I may hide in the shadows Hime…But I still worry about my friends in the light,” Mei said.

A voice chuckled in the back, “Mei, you got a hold of them and that’s all the really matters, right?”

“I’m still very sorry.” Hime said, “Is that Ventus I hear?”

“Yeah...He, Sora, Riku, Hina, Terra, Aqua and Ele. We’re all here.”

“We really worried all of you didn’t we,” Hime said.

“YES YOU DID!” Ele called.

“You and Cherry are both idiots…” Riku said.

“We’re glad you’re safe right now,” Hina added.

“This is my phone! Stop taking it.” Mei said, “Everyone’s alive right? Can I talk to Chero?”

“Yes. We are all safe right now. Chero’s a little busy at the moment, sorry. I heard that the enemy is outside too, how are you fairing with it?”

“It’s no problem!” Sora said, “Easier than a mob of Heartless!”

“………………We’re clearing the way for you. So, get out soon, ok?” Mei said.

“We would if we could. But we’re sort of stuck at a dead end,” Hime said.

“With us out here, you’re bound to get out,” Ele called.

“Yes, because our bonds of friendship connect us together,” Aqua said.

Hime smiled, “I promise we will get out as soon as we can.”

“Oh, Hime? I was looking around the house earlier and I was wondering if you were in the annex?” Hina asked.

“Annex?” Hime questioned.

“You really didn’t notice? Well then again we just found it recently ourselves-” Mei started.

“Then we have to find the door!” Hime interrupted.

“The house is huge. It may take a bit. Be careful, ok?” Mei said.

“Mei! We have to go. We have some urgent business to attend too,” Ventus called.

“Right. I have to hang up now. But um…Hime?”

“Yes, Mei?”

“Show them what the students of Otaku High are made of!”

“I will. Be careful!”

Hime hung up the phone and smiled. She turned to her friends and told them everything she learned.

Mei put her phone away and hurried to assist her friends. They were busy fighting off a small group of monsters.

“Are you done with your phone call?” Riku teased.

“I thought you were going to miss all the fun, Mei!” Sora teased.

“Yes. Hime seems to be doing well. I wish I could have gotten ahold of Chero. But Hime said she was busy,” Mei sighed, summoning her dark magic to fight the monster.

“Enough talk!” Terra called, “Let’s get back to fighting so we can make a safe path out for them.”
