Pagan US Holocaust

I wanna know how I can make this story better. It's not done yet and I'll probably be updating it soon. It takes place in the modern day United States, the title should be enough to tell what it's about.

My mom's boyfriend found my journal. He dug through my stuff and found my boyfriend's phone number.

My boyfriend faked his death and moved in with his twin brother and his uncle.

My best friend and I were the only ones aside from his uncle and his brother to know.

It hurts hiding that one of your friends is still alive, especially when his death caused your other friends so much pain.

But it's amazing having a secret that big.

I find myself grinning when I think about it.

I love having his secret.

--Chapter 1--
Micheal sighed and sat in my chair. My mom's boyfriend had left him upstairs in my room. He noticed a necklace with a note attached to it and picked it up. He read the note aloud. "For Micheal, my beloved Ryuzaki-kun. This if for you. I hope you wear it in my memory in case I don't make it back. I love you. Always remember that."
By the time he finished this he had tears streaming down his face. He looked at the necklace. It was a dog tag that had 'Micheal and Kate forever' engraved on it. Under the necklace was a binder that had everything I'd written.
He put the necklace on and turned on my red dell inspiron mini laptop. While it was starting up, he started flipping through the binder. By the time he finished reading it, he'd be sobbing uncontrollably. I'd left him everything I'd written, including my diary. He was sure I was dead since I'd been taken. He'd try and find a way to get me out though. He'd probably go home and read her binder and diary aloud to his brother BB, who was crushing on Kate, before he did that though. BB would help.
Micheal sighed when he got home and went to his room with BB. "So Kate's been taken to one of the camps... She left me her journal.. I figured you'd want to hear what she's written so far.."
"What?! She's been taken to a camp?!"
Micheal nodded.
"W-WHY? Why HER?"
"She's Wiccan... her mom was taken too..."
BB didn't answer, so Micheal started reading the first page, it was a short diary entry. One of the few she wrote.
"I found out 'he' is still alive. When I think of 'him' now, I find myself smiling and blushing. 'He' has a heart that's so large, it amazes even me. 'He' faked his death for the ones he loved, to keep them safe. He'd given up everything. For getting involved in what he did though, I have to admit was stupid. I know I can't let the secret on, and I wont. Not even to Inu. I refuse. He did all that to keep his loved ones safe and I wont be the one to mess it up. Also, I want to be the one who anyone can come to. I want to be trusted. With trust comes friendship and with friendship comes happiness. I, on the other hand, can't trust many. I see all my friends gossiping and telling others deep secrets all the time, I can't trust those people. I must be careful what I say around them. Most of them can't be trusted. I think I may be in love with 'him'."
He looked at BB to see his reaction. BB was quiet. He looked like he was listening, so Micheal continued with reading it. The next page was pretty much a dairy entry. Just not written like one. I'd written it to be a story to entertain after I'd gotten out of the camp.
"I yawned when I walked inside from the bus stop. My sister ran across the living room and hugged my legs. "Sissi!" she yelled. I hugged back.
"Hey baby girl." I said, my voice was flat. Behind me was the door to the cluttered master bedroom. In front was the living room. Past the living room was the kitchen. The bathroom was between them. The stairs were to my left and the front door was on my right. The house used to be a church, but the moved it and added a lot of stuff to make it a house. They hadn't leveled the ground when they moved it so the house had foundation issues. It didn't have central heat and air either.
My sister returned to her TV and I went to the kitchen, grabbed a pepsi, and went to my room. When I got there, I started up my red dell inspiron mini laptop and turned on my window unit ac and fan. When my laptop had connected to the internet, I entered my chat. Onee-chan was on, but she was away from the computer. So I got on facebook. Onee-chan wasn't my big sister by blood, she was just like one. Ryuzaki-kun was online when I went online on facebook. I sent him a message.
-Ryuzaki-kun! :D-
-Kate-chan! :D-
-What's up?-
-Not much, BB's ranting again =__=-
-Aww D: That sucks.-
-Yeah.-
We didn't say much after that. Neither of us had anything to talk about. I'd been crushing on Ryuzaki for a while, so I was trying to think of something to say. Before I could though, BB took the computer from Ryuzaki.
-KATE WOMAN!!! D<-
-BB! :D-
-Hi >.>-
-Hey.-
-RYUZAKI ATE THE LAST OF THE JAM!!! DDD<-
-Lol to get some more then! xD-
-I DON'T WANNA! D<-

There wasn't much more conversation after that. Not until Ryuzaki got back on. My friend Shawn got on and sent me some of his conversation with Ryuzaki-kun.

Shawn: Do you like Kate?
Ryuzaki: Mmm... kinda.
Ryuzaki: BB likes her.
Ryuzaki: Oops. I let his secret out.

By the time I finished reading, I was smiling and a deep scarlet color. Later that night, Ryuzaki and I were talking again.

Ryuzaki: I might ask someone something in a few minutes. :D
Me: Yay! :D

I assumed he was going to ask me out.

Ryuzaki: Now all I have to do is wait.
Me: Yay?
Ryuzaki: :)

I checked my messages. I had one from Ryuzaki. My heart lept to my throat in excitement as I clicked it. I was smiling almost as big as I could while waiting to read it. I'd decided not to reply till I read the message though, I was pretty sure I knew what it said, but I didn't want to look like an idiot in case it wasn't what I thought. I was right. The message said 'Kate-chan, would you like to go out with me? :)' I replied to him on chat. 'OMG!!! :D YES!!! :D'

That was the last happy memory I had for a long time. There was a movement against Pagans going on. I was one of them. My mom and I, as well as Shawn and Bhri were all Wiccan.

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking about curses, hexes, and summoning demons. Evil witchcraft right? Wrong. Believe it or not, Wicca is a nature based religion. We don't do curses or anything. That's just silly. We don't believe in hell and the rule of three (Pretty much Karma) states that what ever you do comes back on you three-fold. So if we do a curse or anything, it comes back on us three times worse. Wicca ISN'T evil. I know that. It's ignorant, closed-minded people that don't.

The Anti-Pagan movement includes Cristo-Pagans as well. They cross Christianity and Paganism. I was talking to Ryuzaki again when the militia showed up for my mom and I.
-G2g, bbl maybe. Militia's here for Wiccans. Might get taken. If I don't come back I want you to know I love you. I'll probably be in the TX Pagan camp.-

By the time I finished typing that message, the militia was in my room waiting for me. I grabbed my jacket with my iPod in it and a journal and left.

The car ride was horrible. The roads were bumpy, it was cold, and we were crammed into the bed of a truck with about 15 other people. Like I thought, we were put in the Texas Pagan Camp. I was put in a room with my friend Bhri. A miracle. She said she saw Micheal and BB watching her and her family being taken away. I was jealous of her for getting to see him, even if it was only a few seconds and a glimpse from a distance.
-----------------
We spent some time catching up, then we were called for role call. I hid my journal and iPod and left with Bhri. We were also given a number. It was on our clothes and tattooed onto our arm.

That's when I saw him. My ex. The one who'd faked his death. He ran over and hugged me when he saw me. "Kate!"
"C-christian..?" I was surprised to see him there. He wasn't Pagan and I thought he'd moved to Canada. "What are you doing here? You're not pagan."
"I converted."
"I see..."

After that, we were separated, a solider named Martin who I'd met online before the movement separated us. He was an immigrant from Sweden.
