Catrina and Chica walked down the hall together for a while. Neither one of them said a word, though Catrina was overflowing with questions.
What happened to Foxy to make him act like that? Catrina wondered. Is Foxy usually nice? What did Chica mean when she said "not even me"?
"Here we are..." Chica said, stopping in front of a purple curtain. There was a sign that said "Sorry! Out of order" nearby.
"Foxy?" Chica called. "Are you there?" There was no audible response. Catrina looked around, slightly bored, when she saw something that caught her eye. The sign that had said "Sorry! Out of order" a few seconds ago now said "Go away...". Catrina tapped Chica's arm to get her attention, then pointed to the sign. She didn't want to talk in case she said something stupid. Chica looked at the sign and sighed.
"I hope he's okay..." Chica said to Catrina.
"Me too," Catrina replied quietly. Chica looked back at the curtain.
"Foxy?" Chica called again. Once again, there was no audible response. Chica looked back at the sign, which still said "Go away...", then looked at Catrina.
"Wait here for a bit," she said quietly. Chica then opened the curtain, walked behind it, and quickly closed it. Catrina heard someone scream, as if Chica's sudden entrance had startled them.
That must have been Foxy, Catrina thought. She strained to hear what Chica was saying, but she was speaking too quietly, and her voice was slightly muffled by the curtain. Catrina stood silently for some time. Every once in a while, she could just barely hear Chica speaking. She never heard Foxy's voice.
Maybe he's speaking too quietly... Catrina thought. I really wonder what Foxy sounds like... maybe he-
"Are you serious, Foxy?" Chica exclaimed, interrupting Catrina's thoughts. "Nobody could replace you! Plus, Catrina's the least pirate-like animatronic I've ever seen..."
What does being pirate-like have to do with anything?!? Catrina wondered, incredibly confused. She continued to stand where she was silently. After a short while, Chica walked out.
"Well..." said Chica. "Foxy thinks you're here to replace him. I told him that you two have almost nothing in common, but he's not convinced. He's refusing to meet you, no matter how much I try to explain just how nice you are!!!"
"Let me handle this..." Catrina replied with a determined edge to her voice. She was about to open the curtain.
"That's not a very smart-" Chica tried to respond, but she was cut off when Catrina walked behind the curtain and closed it. "...move..." Chica finished. She sighed.
Catrina looked around. It was incredibly dark, and she could barely see anything.
What is it with this place and darkness?!? she wondered. Suddenly, she noticed a pair of yellow eyes that were fixed on her. They appeared to be getting closer, like someone was walking towards her.
"Foxy?" Catrina said quietly. The eyes had stopped getting closer. Suddenly, they disappeared, and Catrina could hear footsteps.
He walked away as soon as he heard my voice... Catrina thought sadly. If he was going to do that, why did he even walk towards me in the first place? Catrina wondered about that for a few seconds. Maybe he thought I was Freddy... after all, he and I have nearly the same eye color, and it's hard to see here... Catrina sighed and walked closer to where she thought Foxy had gone.
