Shall we start?

~Lilith~

I walked up to the large gates, intending to enter, when I was stopped by two guards. “Sorry little girl, you can’t go past here,” the first guard told me. I looked up at him, and the glanced at the other guard. I’d never seen either of them before, so they must have been new.

“I’m here to see Micheal,” I told them.

A hint of recognition passed the second guard’s face. “Are you... Lilith?” he asked me, looking slightly unsure. I nodded, and the other guard looked from me to his partner.

“I didn’t know the prince had a Lolita complex,” the first guard whispered, thinking I couldn’t hear him. I sighed and tucked a few strands of my short blue hair behind my ear, so that my ears were visible.

I looked up at both of the guards, “may I go in now?”

They looked at each other, and nodded. “Sure sweetie, go on in,” the first guard smiled at me. I nodded at him, and walked through the castle doors.

“Moron, didn’t you see her ears? She’s a fairy, she’s probably older than the both of us put together,” I heard the second guard say behind me. “And you called her sweetie,” he mumbled. I chuckled lightly to myself, humans sure were funny sometimes.

“Micheal!” I called out as I entered the main throne room. “Micheal? Where are you?” I looked around, trying to spot him.

I heard running behind me, and saw Micheal coming towards me. “Lilith!” he cried, “it’s so good to see you!” He bent down and hugged me, before grabbing my hand and leading me towards the thrones. “Sit, sit!” he smiled.

I sat down in the smaller of the two thrones. “Micheal, I just saw you yesterday,” I smiled up at him, “but it is always good to see you.”

My words seemed to make his eyes light up, “really?” I nodded, which made him smile even more widely than he already was. “Oh Lilith! I love you!” he squeezed me tightly, before letting me go and holding my hand. “Will you marry me?”

I pulled my hand out of his grip, “again?” Ever since he was a little kid, Micheal had been asking me to marry him. “Micheal, you know I only look ten years old, right?”

“Yes, but I’m almost eighteen. I need to find myself a queen,” he pouted. “And I don’t want it to be anyone but you Lilith.”

I sighed, “Another girl turned you down?” His eyes started to get teary, and I regretted asking him. “Hang in there, one day you’ll find the girl just for you,” I tried to cheer him up.

It seemed to help a little. “You’re sure?” he asked me and I nodded. “See Lilith! This is why I want you to be my queen! You’re so sweet!” he pulled me closer to him and kissed me smack on the mouth.

I moaned as I pulled away from him. “You know if anyone saw you doing that, you’d probably be arrested for molesting a child,” I told him.

“Ah, but Lilith. Remember, you only look ten years old,” he grinned, using my words from earlier.

“So, what did you call me here for anyway?” I asked him, changing the subject.

“Can’t I just want to see you?” he pouted. I could tell he was trying to hide something.

“Micheal, what is it? Tell me,” I told him in my best ‘you better listen to me’ voice.

He sighed, and his expression went from happy-go-lucky, to serious. “There back,” he whispered so softly, I could barely hear him.

“Who’s back?” I asked him, confused.

“Them... the Kenai.” (Couldn’t think of anything. If you have a better name, pm me or comment below)

I stared at him, shocked. “But... the Kenai were sealed away a thousand years ago!” I should know, I was there.

“Yes, but when they were sealed away, they left a prophecy. Have you heard of it?” Michel looked up at me. Heard of it? I could still hear their rough, screechy voices screaming it out.

On the thousandth year
We shall rise again
Darkness shall shroud the earth
And blood will be shed in our name
Remember this
For our first victims will be the children of magic

“Micheal, who were the first people to be killed?” I thought I had spoken strongly, but my voice was barely above a whisper.

He looked shocked at my question,” I never mentioned any killings.”

“Micheal, I’m not stupid. Who was killed?” I said more forcefully.

He sighed and looked me straight in the eyes, “Elves, demons and a few others. But mostly witches and fairies.” I nodded. I knew that was what he was going to say. After all, it had been the witch clans with the help of the fairies that had sealed the Kenai away in the first place.

“So, what are we going to do?” I asked him, completely unsure of what else to say.

“We need to wake them up,” he told me. I nodded, I knew who they were. I was about to tell him that I would go, when he stopped me. “I know. I’ve already sent out letters to a few people I think will be able to help you. They should be here soon.”

I smiled, “Thank you Micheal.”
