Cat Fangs

Oric yawned from his place on the chair within the stands. It was dreadfully boring one can find himself being after something almost exciting happens. The cat’s ears perked up, and his head turned as he heard the prince once again begin speaking. It appeared as though he were about to state yet another challenge to behold.

“This time you’ll be fighting the guards in teams of two,” the prince said aloud as though trying to back himself with his own words as well. Shaking his head, Oric sat up and stretched once more waiting for the details of this supposed partner matches. M… I wonder how partners taste…..Oric mused to himself as he sat up and transformed into his human form. Crossing his legs and arms, he waited for the prince to proceeded. “Everyone will be fighting at the same time, in different areas. So I’ll be able to watch you all work together.”

A sharpness appeared in Oric’s eyes as he heard the prince. A partner battle against knights? Had he not learned we were adept enough to fend of those stupid humans by ourselves? Humans are quite stupid sometimes…. And yet their emotions and souls…. A smirk cracked its way across the demon’s face, and he let out a complacent breath.

“Here are the teams:
• Kallik and Oric
• Chase and Knightly
• Emiko and Sahiro
• Vladimir and Zoey
• Ashido and Hanna
• Yuki and Ryou
• And Lilith and Xexilia”

The prince split the groups quite effectively, and this half brought another laugh from inside the cat. His eyes moved over to the demon girl he had witnessed earlier and couldn’t help but smirk. The overly emotional demon was a sickening thing to look at, and yet her emotions blossomed like those of a human’s, and even then, Oric could taste them in his mouth.

“I’ve never tried to consume the soul of a demon before,” Oric mused to himself, his voice just over a whisper. “I wonder if it tastes anything like human….”

“Now then,” the prince directed. “You, move there. And you, over there!” At that point, the prince almost seemed to be directing some strange form of traffic as the participants in the match began to descend once again into the arena. Once again, Oric caught the eye of the demon girl, and her silver eyes seemed to widen with a systematic fear.

“I won’t fight…” Kallik started suddenly turning to look up at the prince. “I won’t fight alongside this demon.”

Oric repressed a sudden laugh that had worked its way up into his throat. He could tell she was nervous, and even as she looked up at the prince, Oric noticed that Kallik constantly threw worried looks to another human not far off who only seemed unable to make a move.

“Am I too bloody for your taste?” Oric smirked causing the girl to turn her head sharply and survey him. “You’re almost like a human… it’s disgusting….What is the fate of our kind when one like you is allowed to live?”

“I… Stop. I won’t hear anything from your,” the Kallik answered back.

“Aw so sad,” Oric answered pulling at the sides of his face into a strange frown.

Kallik shot another sharp look back up to the prince as though she were pleading for him to make some amends to stand in. However, the prince shook his head as though he intended to keep his way on the said matter. I’ll give him one thing Oric thought to himself. He is a stubborn human… I’d enjoy tearing a soul like that apart…..

“Everything is already decided,” the prince answered back, and appearing to feel a sudden strike of defeat, Kallik moved her head downwards and seemed to address the floor rather than anything else.

“Don’t worry,” Oric smirked causing the female demon to look up with an even more worried visage. “When I’m done slaughtering the knights… I’ll make the pleasure of slitting your throat.”

“Stop,” Kallik said sharply suddenly forcing her own glare upon the eyes of Oric. However, the dark haired male demon laughed back, and suddenly, his face was light and almost purely innocent looking.

“I’m sorry,” Oric answered. “I am cruel as we all are. I meant nothing by it, and you should already know that being a demon.” With that, Oric’s eyes shot up to the prince, but he kept his face calm and light. “Shall we begin then?” the demon’s voice rose up and echoed throughout the coliseum.

“Begin!” the prince answered back.

Oric’s eyes shot straight to the guards now set before him. There were fewer than before, and it was in that moment that Oric decided to make an art form out of them for he had not been able to do it with the other group. Standing before them in full human form, the demon smiled a toothy smile at the guards who, recognizing him from before, seemed to flinch a moment before they moved into attack. Oric’s eye shifted to the other demon as she seemed to slide into her own attack format.

“Well now,” Oric smirked. “How about we play a game with this…..”

“What do you mean?” Kallik’s voice answered back.

“I won’t use my shadows this time. First one to kill them all wins,” Oric laughed back, and before Kallik could say anymore, the demon charged straight at the men and kicked the helmet straight off the head of the man in front of him. Doing a backwards flip, the male demon stood on his hands human hands for a full second and then flipped bringing his feet straight into the face of the man in front of him. A somewhat high pitched laugh escaped the demon at that point, and he flipped backwards once more returning to his hands. The guards were already starting to try and block both Oric and Kallik inwards, and yet it worked more towards the dark haired demon’s advantage as he continued to dart forwards bringing up kick after kick after kick.

“This is so much more fun that before,” Oric smirked. “I will give it that.”
