Our Turn

What was it with these people and teamwork? I wanted to groan, and I'm sure the look on my face was anything but pleasant. I glanced over at my partner, Sahiro I think was the name. He had a demon in him, I could sense that, but I didn't know much else. He was making his way over to my side. I looked away, as though that would make him not come any closer.

I sighed when he sat next to me as we watched some of the teams go. "What can you bring to the table?" I asked, figuring that I might as well get used to him being my partner. When he hesitated, I continued, "I know about the demon inside of you. With that, and my abilities, we should be fine."

He turned his head, "And what are your abilities again?"

I smirked. "You'll find out soon enough." Finally, we were able to go. "How about you take that half and I'll take these. LEt's make it a race and see who can get done first." I always rose to the challenge.

"Deal," he smiled, and we took off running.

I morphed into the fastest demon at my disposal and knocked them all out quickly, but one guy was good, he wasn't going to go down without a fight. He managed to block my fingers from hitting his pressure point everytime I tried. I smirked, this could be fun. I morphed again into a scarier looking demon and came at him from the front as he tried to stab me with his spear.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a body smashed into the soldier, knocking him out from the force. I looked over and saw Sahiro standing there smiling. I morphed back to my original form. "What do you think you were doing? He was so mine!" I wanted to kill something. I was finally having some fun.

"You looked like you needed some help," he shrugged like it was no big deal.

I couldn't even find the words to argue, I was so mad. I balled my fingers into a fist and stormed back up to my seat, jumping from the ground floor over the wall and up into my seat. Eventually, Sahiro came and joined me, but I ignored him. Teamwork was for losers, that much was proven today.
