Entanglement

"Teamates and heroes, it seems we have some uninvited guest of on their way to the castle. They mean to kill us and eat our bodies. It is time to show the Prince what we are really made of, so let's kill these enemies and strike fear into all how stand against us."

Oric yawned morosely at the words that had just been spoken. The Kenai are already underway? he thought to himself as he sat on the ground divulged into his own thoughts on the matters of light and dark. The voice that had made its prescience already know to the demon was not the subject matter, but instead, it proved to be more of an annoying gnat that got in the way over anything else. You won't escape my mental prison, child Oric's thoughts were loud and were no doubt heard by the other in his head. However, the addressed made no comment on the subject matter.

As the others of the group began to tense, Oric began to sense the pressure of dark energy on the way. Stretching up to a standing position still in his cat form, Oric turned his head and allowed his eyes to address the uninvited guests. Of course, this was somewhat an ironic moment for as soon as the cat lay eyes on the Kenai, the voice within his mind began screaming out as if in mortal terror. Silence you child! Oric's thoughts were loud and foreboding within his own mind. If you allow me to show fear, I will destroy you. The scream was instantly killed and fell into silence.

"HE'S MINE!" a particularly harsh voice demanded, and with that, Oric noticed the elf that was now charging at one of the Kenai. Shaking his head, the cat sighed.

Overly zealous emotions taste terrible.... Oric sighed to himself, but as his thoughts came to the more pressing matter, he noticed that a particularly slender man was staring at him. The white pale visage reflected for a moment before Oric blinked once more. In that instant, the man was gone. A... Kenai? Oric thought to himself as his eyes narrowed. Almost on call, an actual Kenai seemed to burst forth from the crowd that had started to gather and do battle to stand before the cat.

"Here kitty kitty," the Kenai smirked almost as though he had thought of something cleaver and wanted to use it to his advantage. The cat stared back with solid yellow eyes and yet made no motion to come forth.

Don't insult my pride....Vanity is a virtue... Oric thought to himself, and suddenly a smile had appeared upon the visage of the malicious cat. The shadows around the Kenai seemed to stretch suddenly, and just as he had done before, Oric commanded the shadows to seize the Kenai before him. However, almost as though he anticipated this, the Kenai moved sharply away from the shadows that were now forming hands ready to seize him.

"So then what are you kitty?" the Kenai smirked as he moved farther and farther to the left in order to avoid the shadows that were trying to seize him from all sides.

"A demon," Oric found his voice hissing more than speaking. This was his truer voice, and the tempo of it had dropped more than eight octaves. A swish of the cat's tail, and suddenly Oric was in his human form. His arms crossed before him as the demon commanded more and more of the shadows around them both to try and seize the Kenai. Finally, a shadow hand reached upwards and took the Kenai by the throat. Completely caught off guard, the Kenai retracted almost in fear at being seized. Yet Oric was not through. Quite the opposite, the demonic creature commanded more and more hands to seize the Kenai from all sides. Finally making somewhat of a black spiderweb that had caught the Kenai fly, the shadows wrapped around the being squeezing him within their cold blooded hands. This brought a particular smile upon the face of the demon, and for a split second his eyes reflected a sudden and unknown light. And you thought you could beat me..... Oric's thoughts were daggers, and as his voice reflected the same thoughts, the Kenai seemed to instantly freeze no longer bothering to struggle within the shadow netting.

"I'll be the spider in this web," Oric smiled, and suddenly as the curvature of his lips tainted his face, he took on the insane look that one who had played with death more times than one. "And you'll be the fly. Die."

The shadows, as though they had been held back by the sheer desire of the demon, suddenly stretched forwards and began to form a perfect black mass around the Kenai. Leaping forwards, Oric took the form of a giant black spider and seized the webbed Kenai. Biting sharply into it, the demon took the pleasure of eating the Kenai completely. After half a second, the Kenai was dead and the shadows returned to their previous positions. Satisfied, the demon took his human like form again.

"I'll make it rain black blood," Oric smirked as his eyes trailed across the battlefield that was continuing to progress.

Don't... hurt them.... please.... Master Oric... please..... a voice said within the confines of Oric's mind, and in that sudden instant, Oric felt all his demon power leave him. It was a startling feeling, but in another half second, it was gone. Seizing his head, the demon let out an irritated hiss.

You weak creature... get out of my head..... Oric commanded sharply.

Just... please don't hurt the innocent people.... the voice pleaded yet again.

Child, the demon's thoughts were loud in his own mind. Enough.

And with that, there was silence within the demon's mind once more. Turning his head around the field, the demon began walking farther into the field.
