Please consider the whole 'world' thing a demonstration of my nerdom. I've been a part of theOtaku since 2003. Sporadic posting of various pictures and art projects is the name of the game, and I play it fairly well. My favorite animes are Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, and Gundom Wing to name but a few. I'm a big music fan; I play both electric and acoustic guitar (Jack and SophiA respectively)and I recently picked up ukulele (Little Bobby). I listen to rock mostly and my favorite bands include Blindside, Incubus, Muse, and Chevelle. I'm a huge book nerd too, I've read a lot of crappy sci fi books, but I love the classics. My favorite authors are probably Ray Bradbury, H.G. Wells, and Tolkien. I'm at university studying art and philosophy and I don't really plan on pursuing a career in either of those areas. Well, that'll do it for now I suppose.
How is everybody doin'? I've been taking a bit of a break from life of late and am just getting back in the saddle. Over the summer I pretty much didn't make any art which was a nice break (i got burnt out by the end of last semester. Damn you painting, philosophy, and physics!). However, for the first time since high school I'm not making anything for classes. It's a gross and weird feeling and I don't like it. Then, on the other hand, I have been working on my portfolio and trying to plan out the rest of my life (failing at both, i might add, but that doesn't bother me). Well, whipped out that little sketchbook of mine today and went to town for the first time since March (i think). Over the holiday I'll be doing a considerable amount of doodling and probably posting them here. THINGS!
By the way, I saw Ponyo for the first time last week! It was so sweet it made me cry a little *sniffle*. Studio Gibli just makes me happy.
Well hey there. How long has it been? A year? Two Years? Longer? Shorter? Mneh, the concept of constant linear time is wrong anyway.
Today, this nineteenth of January, I saw six robins chilling in the snow outside the campus library. I live in Minnesota. Explain that biology people.
Well, that's probably the most exciting thing to happen since I've logged on eons ago. I've got a little baby notebook that I'm going to try to fill with little pen and water color doodles. Should I post all of them here or just do the best ones? There are three up now and I'm going to put up two more later. Food for thought.
I think I'm going to watch some Blue Sub. 6 tonight. I haven't watched any anime probably in about as long a time as it's been since I logged on last. Wow, grammar much? Wait! Lies! I watched Spirited Away this summer! And Princess Mononoke! What's that new Hayo Miazaki film that just came out? Has anyone seen it? Anywho...no, I think that's it.
Well, goodness! It has been far too long. How are we feeling today? I've been keeping pretty busy with school, life, etc. It seemed like a long time since I've signed on so I thought I'd take moment and say my hellos:
well, it's pretty obvious that it's been a while. i've been working (suckfest) and getting ready for school (woot!) and doing a crap-load of nothing (huzzah!), so my summer's been pretty alright, I'd say.
I have a confession. My interest in anime had waned somewhat of late. It's tough when they stop showing the classics on tv and i can't afford to just buy the ones i like. and it's pretty obvious that i haven't drawn any anime in a milenium too. I was thinking of packing up and leaving.
But then the heavens opened and on a single shining ray of light from heaven descended Princess Mononoke like the hand of God saying, "hold up!"
Yeah, I watched the magnificent Hayo Miyazaki film this past weekend. It had been a long time since I last witnessed it's glory and I had strayed from the path. I know the error of my ways and will not stray again. Thank you Mr. Miyazaki.

by-the-by, for some reason i can't get youtube videos to show up on posts. I use Firefox rather than Explorer so I'm wondering if that has an affect. Suggestions?
