I figure as long as STAN can live here, I can too. Here's round two.
After being home sick for a week with mild stuff I should have worked through I went to the doctor today and found out that it wasn't just [overshare alert] period cramps I actually have a monster urinary tract infection. Awesome. I've gotten some antibiotics though. Doctor also thought that I had some other bug that caused my other symptoms, terribad acid reflux, headaches and other things.
I scheduled 3 job interviews today and decided to skip work at my actual job so it wouldn't ruin my happy day.
I have an 8 AM interview in the morning tomorrow. It is a second interview for an "Admissions Coordinator" position at a local technical school. It's been open since 1954, so it's not fly by night. They have 6 programs, electronics, HVAC, Medical Assistant, Medical Coding, Pharmacy Tech and something else I don't remember. It's still kind of a phone job, but not really. People ask for info on the school, I call them, set up an interview and a tour, follow up with them and help them enroll. It's 60-70 percent phone time he said, but it's not customer service phone time, it's useful phone time.
I also have an 8:30 phone interview Thursday morning with Cox Communications for their call center. They pay better than my current call center and I could get free cable and discounted internet.
Third and the one that garners the least of my interest is one of the temp agencies here wants to know if I would have an interest ni office temping. Not really, but not no, so what the heck.
Also, on an unrelated note, twelve times a year it sucks to be a chick.
Last night at dinner my older brother threatens to steal something off my plate. I, of course, threaten to stab him.
"That's the second time you've threatened to do that to me today."
"Fine. I'll stab you and set you on fire."
"Mom! Molly threatened to catch me on fire!" Mind you, the man is 36 years old...
My mother replies, "Catch you on fire could mean it's an accident, Dan. She threatened to set you on fire. There's a difference."
And now you know where I get my personality.
I got a call for a job interview at a local college. They left a voicemail, so I need to call them in the morning. If I get a job there, I can do classes free. I need your positive thinking and prayers if you bother with that sort of thing. I want a new job!
Tried calling this morning, got an out of the office message. Stupid holidays.
EDIT 2: called on the off chance they were open today and buy am I glad I did. There's an informational meeting on the position tonight from 5:30 to 6:30 that I am asked to attend.
I also got called on another resume today. This one is another call center, but the pay is better and it's the company I use for my internet so hopefully I'd get that discounted or free and some fucking free cable that I would never watch.
